Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

One important thing about being a recruiter at Mettler-Toledo: no two days are the same. We work on such a wide variety of open requisitions that every day is a fresh challenge with new people to meet and topics to learn. If you feel like you have hit a rut or conquered your role with no more to learn, this is a great opening for you to dig into. 

This role is different as you will be covering open requisitions for our units in the Eastern US (Maryland, Massachusetts, and New Jersey). You can work remotely with work hours matching the eastern time zone. Best of all, you will not be an island working alone. In fact, you will be part of a tight-knit, Columbus-based cooperative team that supports one another as we take responsibility for all facets of hiring success. 

Bring your skills in interviewing techniques, advanced knowledge of proactive recruiting techniques and sources. Responsibilities will also include: 
  • Building specific recruiting plans based on meeting with hiring managers. 
  • Working with a variety of hiring managers to uncover their unique hiring needs and details about open requisitions.
  • Communicating regularly with leaders/managers and candidates to establish a rapport and source new leads. 
  • Maintaining regular contact with possible future candidates to establish candidate pipelines. 
  • Selling open roles to potential applicants; Screening and referring qualified applicants to hiring managers for interviews.
  • Steering the entire interview process from beginning to final interview, working cooperatively with local unit HR to handle new hire details.
  • Living in our applicant tracking system (Avature) and keeping the system updated.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Organizational Development, Marketing, Business Administration or a closely related field is preferred 
  • An understanding of human resources principles and practices. 
  • 2 + years of recruiting/staffing. Experience in an agency is desirable. 
  • Work experience filling scientific-related roles and/or engineering/manufacturing roles.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task. 
  • Tact, diplomacy and the ability to enlist the support of others are essential. Proven ability to work with all levels of employees required. 
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality. 
  • Outstanding time management skills and the ability to work in a very fast paced environment with multiple technologies. 
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven PC skills and experience using various software packages are required, i.e. Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • The ability to travel domestically - there are units to support in NJ, MD, and MA and a home base team in OH.
