Intern - Lab Chemist

Our Product Management group is looking for an intern to support Particle System Characterization research and development activities, with a focus on experimentation and advanced image analysis. This includes performing laboratory experiments designed to mirror the current state of the art in pharmaceutical batch reaction, crystallization, and formulation processes.  This position will support product testing activities of EasyViewer and ParticleTrack, two cutting edge technical hardware and software products.

Responsibilities will include:

·        Running R&D laboratory experiments in crystallization, organic chemistry, and solid/liquid dispersion experiments using various Mettler-Toledo instruments: Automated Synthesis Reactor Workstation, In-Situ Microscopy and FBRM

·         Contributing to instrument studies, extending performance testing and verification to experiments

·         Preparing and analyzing data using a variety of advanced image analysis techniques

·         Managing, analyzing, writing and presenting reports on generated data

·         Supporting strategic software evaluation and testing  

·         Maintaining laboratory organization and assist in cleaning laboratory equipment and glassware 


What You Need to Succeed

  • Must be actively seeking a bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other physical science
  • Possess strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills
  • Proficient-to-advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Solid planning and organizational skills and effective problem solving skills
  • Excellent follow-through and ability to meet deadlines
  • Take initiative, be self-motivated and creative
