Network Solution Architect

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

The primary focus for this position is to be a member of a high functioning global team of solution architects with a primary focus in designing solutions in and around the network infrastructure for all Mettler Toledo business units worldwide.  This includes but is not limited the ownership and management of projects, Expert / Level 3 support and troubleshooting of the unique network related problems as required, forecasting and planning future strategies for the network infrastructure which includes both financial and planning development, and leading and coaching of team members.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

EXPERT LEVEL EXPERIENCE IN

·        Network infrastructure design and architecture with familiarity in Cisco products as well as other top tier network and security manufactures.  This includes but is not limited to

·        Cisco Catalyst and Nexus series platforms

·        F5 Load Balancers

·        Cisco ASA Firewalls

·        Cisco WLCs and wireless Access Points

·        Fortinet Firewalls as well as other NGFW manufactures

·        3rd party edge firewall support

·        Create and document high-level and detailed network designs for new and existing datacenters.

·        Ability to integrate new or acquired business sites into the existing Mettler Toledo network infrastructure.

·        Ability to lead / manage projects and teams as related to network infrastructure improvements

·        Planning and implementation of changes/projects/upgrades of various network integrated projects

·        Working to design and implement solutions as required to support other IT teams as well as other business teams and business objectives

·        Design and Architect Wireless Infrastructure based on Cisco, Controller-based architecture.

·        Coordinate with application teams to plan and design processes and updates within the area of responsibility

·        Cooperate with other Solution Architects to design infrastructure solutions to meet to business needs

·        Network WAN Optimization  technologies such as Riverbed Steelhead

·        Design and architecture of SD-WAN, MPLS, Integrated Security Solutions and VPN architecture.

·        Work closely with Security Team to ensure protection from external threats and vulnerabilities.

·        Ability to perform required duties with little to know management oversite / direction

·        Leads directives / challenges to the business and anticipates required changes to the environment to ensure business uptime,

·        Expert in the following technologies but not limited to

·        DDI / IPAM (DCHP, DNS, IPAM)

·        NTP

·       TCP/IP (Route Switch)

·       OSI Model Layers 1 -7

  • SD-WAN design and implementation using Viptela and/or Fortinet
  • CISCO DNA CENTER Experience

NICE TO HAVE TO SEE EXPERIENCE IN

·       Virtualization technology based on VMWare Enterprise products.

·       Public and Private cloud knowledge

·       Python / Ansible Scripting

·       VMware NSX

·       Microsoft Active Directory 


What You Need to Succeed

Education and/or Experience

·        Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems (or a related field), or equivalent experience

·        At least 10 years direct experience focused on large scale network LAN/WAN design, forecasting, and implementation.

·        In-depth knowledge and working experience in layer 3 routing protocols specifically OSPF. EIGRP and BGP.

·        Cisco product lines including but not limited to: Nexus Switches 9000/7000/5000/2000, C6500, C9300, C9200

·        Fortinet Firewalls

·        Networking protocols, including but not limited to: TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, BGP, OSPF, MPLS

·        Cisco Wireless Architecture design based on Lightweight access points and controller based technologies.

·        Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

·        Develop strong business relationships with the application service and architecture teams to design scalable network solutions

·        Ability to understand the complexities between architectures supported and directly related to core competencies including network, servers, storage, and applications.

Some travel both domestically and internationally required.
