Quality Engineer

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

The job holder will have experience in an Engineering and Manufacturing environment, Quality management systems (and relevant report writing), a good understanding of ISO9001, and experience as an Auditor/Assessor.

Main responsibilities will be corrective actions needed for supplier, internal and customer concerns, conduct and follow up on external and internal audits and responsible for the non-conformance reporting.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Lead/Assist/facilitate problem resolution using Quality tools such as 8D, 5Y, etc
    • Instigate and assist in development and embedding of core quality tools
    • Carry out process/ internal audits/Supplier audits
    • Attend internal and customer meetings with regards to quality issues
    • Facilitate and assist in the creation of Work Instructions, Inspection Plans and associated process documentation as required
    • Support of New Product Introduction through quality planning and implementation, liaising with customers, internal functions and suppliers
    • First Article Inspection Report administration & coordination, including the compilation of required documentation and submittal to the relevant design authorities.
    • Assist in the monitoring of product through the production process to ensure compliance with the product definition.
    • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non‐conformities relating to product, process, and quality systems
    • Identify and record any problems relating to the product process and quality system
    • Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels
    • Verify the implementation of solutions
    • Support of LCC sourcing transition

What You Need to Succeed

    • Good Quality Engineering background gained within manufacturing,
    • Strong and effective communication skills at all levels, both verbal and written
    • Good working knowledge of Root Cause analysis and problem solving techniques
    • Computer literate in the use of data analysis tools and Microsoft Office  (Excel, Access, Minitab, etc.)
    • Experienced in technical report writing
    • Able to read, understand and interpret engineering product and process information (Drawings, International and Customer Standards)
    • Good time management, with timely project completion skills
    • Experience in the use of Core tools (8D, 5Y, DFMEA, PFMEA, APQP, ISIR, MSA and SPC)
    • Experience in carrying out process / quality audits
    • Knowledge of Q-Pulse would be beneficial, but not essential
    • Knowledge of SAP would be beneficial
