Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
This position is responsible for driving Supply Chain best practices throughout the company. You will engage with Strategic Business Units, Marketing & Sales Organizations, and Producing Organizations to assist in the implementation of new processes to improve performance to the customer and inventory management. Many of the business process changes will be tied to SAP implementations and experience with SAP is strongly preferred. The Supply Chain Improvement Specialist is a thought-leader for the company in Supply Chain Management. This position reports into the Head of US Supply Chain Excellence and is based in our Worthington location on Dearborn Dr.
Your responsibilities would include:
- Ensure the timely, accurate and cost effective delivery of goods to internal and external customers
- Drive improvements in on-time delivery and lead-times to internal and external customers
- Support inventory optimization to improve service levels and reduce working capital requirements
- Streamline existing back-office operations and processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness
- Ensure end-to-end supply chain master data quality
- Implement new concepts and process controls for supply chain planning and production scheduling
- Proactively identify deficiencies in supply chain performance and engage key stakeholders in driving short-term and long-term solutions
- Manage and maintain supply chain performance metrics
- Assist in adoption of standardized processes and enhancement of standard work
- Be able to travel 10-25% to company and non-company locations within North America, Europe and Asia
What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field
- Previous experience in Operations, Supply Chain Management, and/or Planning
- A strong process improvement background
- Strong change management, analytical, facilitation, and communication skills coupled with a demonstrated ability to drive improvement in a highly-decentralized environment
- Must have a high bias for action
- Excellent ability to lead through persuasion as opposed to mandate
- SAP and Microsoft Excel skills are required
- Knowledge of DDMRP
