Our Opening and Your Responsibilities:
  • As our Consumables Product Engineer, you will be responsible for all aspects of new consumable product design and implementation for premium Laboratory consumables that improve science one tip at a time. 
  • These consumables are manufactured on site in large scale production with emphasis on performance, sustainability, and cost efficiency. 
Specific responsibilities will include:
  • Creating and implementing innovative new break though products for Liquid handling.
  • Communicating about and advocating for novel solutions.
  • Designing, Printing and Prototyping solutions.
  • Evaluating new solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Designing.
  • Create test protocols and drive performance testing.
  • Comparing Life Cycle Analysis for leading approaches.
  • Quantifying and understanding the business implications of new ideas.
  • Project management.
  • Documenting Engineering changes with Document Control.
  • Working with internal operations and suppliers to integrate new solutions in manufacturing.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related Engineering discipline such as Mechanical.
  • Able to use CAD and communicate design intent effectively.
  • Attention to detail, curiosity, a passion for solving problems, and a growth mindset for advancing your knowledge in the skills related to creating high-quality high-volume consumables solutions.
Additional Skills/Experiences that will help us Succeed:
  • Design and development of high-volume polymer parts.
  • Injection molded and/or Thermoformed part design.
  • Commercial knowledge of Sustainable materials.
  • Creating, evaluating, implementing New Product solutions. 
  • Using FEA, CFD, Moldflow or Moldex3D Material simulation.
  • Designing, constructing, developing Tooling.
  • Ability to Drive Projects & Maintain business relations.
  • Experience managing projects in cross-functional settings, and successfully delivering products from concept through launch.
  • Expertise in sustainable packaging design methods and materials.
  • Knowledgeable of manufacturing processes (Injection molding, Thermoforming, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable of various packaging materials (paper, molded fiber, corrugated, etc.)
