Supply Chain Improvement Specialist

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

In this position, you will drive the advancement of METTLER TOLEDO’s supply chain by developing and implementing global strategic initiatives and fostering continuous improvement in our unit operations. You will align policies and processes across the organization, taking ownership of assigned projects as both project manager and subject matter expert. Your role will focus on optimizing our global supply chain network and footprint. You will collaborate with colleagues in Sales, Service, Operations, Supply Chain, R&D, and Finance across both operational and group functions. By leveraging your leadership skills, collaborative approach, and problem-solving expertise, you will enhance performance and efficiency within METTLER TOLEDO’s supply chain and operations.

Performance Management 
  • Monitor and analyze both global and unit-level supply chain performance metrics, proactively identifying improvement opportunities and providing targeted support to enhance efficiency across all units. 
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives that drive measurable performance gains, contributing directly to the achievement of key supply chain objectives. 
  • Ensure alignment of business processes across operational units to foster a performance-oriented culture. 
Process Optimization 
  • Develop, document, and implement best practices for supply chain processes, ensuring adoption of standardized methods that drive efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Lead the enhancement of business process templates, promoting continuous improvement in supply chain operations. 
  • Execute new process enhancements and maintain documentation for global supply chain templates, ensuring adherence to established standards. 
Strategic Design and Execution 
  • Formulate a visionary supply chain strategy that supports sustainable, long-term performance across the organization. 
  • Evaluate and optimize our global network structures, enhancing responsiveness to delivery demands while building resilience across regions. 
  • Actively monitor and adopt emerging trends and technologies to maintain a competitive edge and foster a culture of innovation within the supply chain. 
Leadership Development and Engagement 
  • Develop current and future leaders in supply chain and operations, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to drive innovation and excellence. 
  • Serve as a repository of expertise in supply chain processes, providing training and support to enhance organizational capabilities and foster accountability. 
  • Create a culture of ownership among team members, empowering individuals to contribute meaningfully to team goals and performance. 
Cross-Functional Collaboration 
  • Lead strategic projects and indirectly manage cross-functional teams that support the Global Supply Chain Strategy. 
  • Connect and engage with stakeholders across various functions—including Sales, Service, Operations, R&D, and Finance—to ensure seamless collaboration and alignment on key initiatives. 
  • Act as a role model in interactions with internal customers, demonstrating professionalism and commitment to achieving common goals.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Proven experience in supply chain management or operations with a strong track record of delivering results. 
  • Experience working in a global, matrix environment and the proven ability to deliver results using indirect influence. 
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and drive change. 
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration across diverse teams. 
  • Strong change management, project management and analytical skills. 
  • Superior communication (listening & speaking) and influencing skills. 
  • Strong collaborative engagement that can effectively partner with cross functional stakeholders and business units. 
  • Dependable, proactive, and self-motivated. 
  • Thorough knowledge of SAP or equivalent system (Supply Chain functionality) is strongly preferred, with 3+ years of working experience.
