Industrial Field Service Technician

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Mettler Toledo needs to add to our Industrial Service Team in the Mississauga area. As a Field Service Technician, you will troubleshoot and repair industry related products, perform calibrations and preventative maintenance duties, resolve first line customer service issues and accurately complete service reports. You could also lead efforts to modernize, upgrade and convert customer existing equipment. Also within this role, you will: 
  • Comply with Canada ISO & Measurement standards when required by the customer. 
  • Operate a heavy duty test truck. 
  • Ensure customer uptime requirements are met and that preventative maintenance work is completed on time and with accuracy. 
  • Communicate to the customer upon completion of the work performed (explain what service was completed and what is needed/recommended in the future). 
  • Collaborate with Mettler Toledo sales representatives to promote and sell service agreements and/or products 
  • Be the expert and provide technical and application support to both sales representatives and customers. 
  • Ensure productivity standards are met by working with the Scheduling Team to maximize your daily/weekly schedule. 
  • Travel overnight up to 20% of the time.

What You Need to Succeed

  • A 2-year college diploma in Engineering/Electronics/Instrumentation Technology
  • Experience in a technical support role in the industrial electronics industry. 
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain a Commercial Driver's License. 
  • Experience with MS Office software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook; SAP CRM experience is preferred. 
  • The ability to lift, transport and place test weights and equipment pf up to 20 Kg (testing of equipment may require movement of up to 300Kg in 20 Kg increments).
  • Ability to travel within Canada and the U.S.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
