METTLER-TOLEDO Process Analytics (MTPRO-US is a leading supplier to end-users and system integrators for liquid analytical measurement solutions to control production processes. METTLER TOLEDO PendoTECH, a Strategic Business Unit within MTPRO, is a leading supplier of single-use bio-pharmaceutical equipment. PendoTECH delivers a line of pressure sensors, control systems and software for measuring, monitoring and data collection in bioprocess applications.

As a member of the Engineering Team, this position is responsible for contributing to all facets of Research and Development projects, concerning products in the arena of sensors, transmitters/monitors, control systems, and associated software. This position is responsible for contributing to the team that creates, researches, and develops ideas and processes for new products, as well as improving the performance and design of existing products. This position also uses technical knowledge to support existing products in all facets.

This position is based out of the PendoTECH location in Princeton, New Jersey.


  • Develop product ideas based on customer interests
  • Manage projects in-house and with external vendors/suppliers
  • Assists with the generation of design concepts
  • Performs analysis of products, materials, processes, and/or equipment
  • Summarizes, analyzes, and draws conclusions from test results
  • Analyze feasibility, cost, and return on investment for product ideas
  • Conducts design verification and validation activities for new products and/or changes to existing products
  • Investigates and evaluates technologies as potential solutions to problems
  • Contributes to root-cause analysis on products/process problems as related to design, material, or process
  • Customer focused mindset, direct customer technical support for PendoTECH products
  • Creates and maintains technical documentation of current PendoTECH products (BOMs, Work Instructions, Product Descriptions, Data Sheets, Engineering Drawings etc.)
  • Mechanical design: Detailed design of injection molded plastic, CNC machined, and sheet metal parts
  • Prototyping skills: 3D printing, mock-ups, fit and function checks
  • Analysis and comparisons of competitive products
  • Creation of requirements, verification, and validation activities
  • Collaborate with external vendors and contractors
  • Flexible to travel to vendors as required

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a product development role
  • Strong CAD software skills (SolidWorks or equivalent)
  • Strong mathematical and computational skills
  • Highly proficient in Excel software
  • Experienced in laboratory techniques, as well as familiarity with electronic testing, data collection and analysis
  • Experience with advanced industrial communications protocols like MODBUS preferred
