Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

We are recruiting for a Marketing Manager to join our team in Salford, Manchester. The Marketing Manager will lead all marketing activities for the metal detection business area of Mettler- Toledo ensuring the activities adhere to Mettler-Toledo guidelines and marketing frameworks.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Lead the marketing activities of the Metal Detection Business Unit to support delivery of business strategy by enhancing market positioning, brand strength, marketing collateral and campaigns to support the promotion of products and service. 
  • Actively contribute to the Mettler Toledo Safeline senior management team meetings.
  • Manage the development of marketing materials, presentations, training materials and other customer facing sales tools to promote the product inspection division and the Metal Detection across the global network of MT market organisations and third party distributors. 
  • Lead and develop Marketing team members through Global Performance Management process. Manage the day to day requirements of the reporting structure. Leverage effective change management processes where applicable.
  • Develop compelling Divisional and demand creation campaigns backed by high value content pieces for channels to deploy. Ensuring materials are delivered in a timely manner and within budget.  
  • Lead specific allocated divisional marketing projects and tasks.
  • Manage local marketing department team and supplier relationships to provide cost effective solutions.
  • Support lead generation activities, telemarketing and sales processes for metal detection..
  • Work closely with Metal Detection product management, sales and service management to provide all marketing elements required for successful product launches and service business expansion.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the market including competitors and market trends to inform and shape Marketing team outputs.
  • Contribute to the Product Inspection integrated Divisional Marketing Plan. 
  • Provide and maintain high quality content to support Group and Divisional marketing programmes e.g. Newsletters, eNewsletters, PR, company web site, intranets etc. 

What You Need to Succeed

  • Strong level of B2B Marketing experience, ideally within a food or pharmaceutical industry
  • Confident communicator with good networking skills, used to working in a global company through a matrix organisation. 
  • Culturally sensitive, a people person, ideally with international experience (either by frequent travel or overseas work experience).
  • Must be competent with Microsoft Office products. Usage of InDesign and/or Photoshop would be desirable but not essential. 
  • Graduate level education with professional marketing qualification
  • Prior responsibility for team and project leadership within a marketing environment
  • Must be able to rapidly acquire an understanding of our customer's applications and how Product Inspection technology bring customer value.
