Product Inspection, Product Project Manager

This is an indeterminate full-time position, based out of our office location at 2915 Argentia Road, Unit 6, Mississauga, Ontario.

The Product Inspection (PI), Product Project Manager is responsible, through their technical aptitude and product knowledge, for supporting the sales and marketing of engineering products and industrial and packaging solutions, specifically, metal detection, checkweighers, and x-ray equipment as used in the food and pharma industries. Essential duties and responsibilities include:
  • Working closely with sales and service teams on key accounts and large projects
  • Providing technical application support
  • Ensuring guaranteed specs and configurations are achievable when listed on a quotation
  • Visiting customers with sales reps and/or project manager to support key account business and large projects 
  • Actively participating in sales and technical review meetings to ensure that solutions on the systems are thoroughly reviewed 
  • Recognizing and being actively involved in solving potential technical problems on topics and needs identified through customer needs assessments and configurations
  • Identifying and eliminating gaps in PI knowledge and support
  • Planning and executing product and technical trainings for the sales team on application solutions, customizations
  • Planning new product launches and preparing strategy for market penetration
  • Executing along existing business processes and providing recommendations for improvement
  • Managing incoming demand such as phone calls, emails, service or requests
  • Supporting sales and service with quoting, lead management, inbound demand response, and customer service for the assigned product inspection portfolio
  • Completing quotes for product, service, parts, kits and upgrades

What You Need to Succeed

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements.
Education & Experience 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering along with 5 plus years of technical application and/or product management experience associated with automated packaging and inspection machinery – metal detection, checkweighers and x-ray equipment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
Technical Aptitude and Capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical application support to the sales team and customers to ensure guaranteed specs and configurations are achievable and met.
Sales Background
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully execute the sales cycle for product inspection equipment specifically metal detection, checkweighers and x-ray equipment.
Computer Skills
  • Demonstrated advanced ability to effectively operate Windows based programs and internal operation systems required for such activities to include: sales, marketing and training activities.
Language and Communication Skills
  • Ability to read, write and speak effectively in English. Ability to prepare reports and compose written correspondence in a detailed, precise and clear manner. Ability to speak in a professional manner to both internal employees, or external customers.

Our Offer to You

  • An annual base salary of $72,800 – $76,000, with the opportunity to make an additional 7% by achieving performance based targets. Eligible for a merit increase on an annual basis.
