METTLER TOLEDO Thornton, a Strategic Business Unit within MTPRO, is the leader in pure and ultrapure industrial water monitoring instrumentation used in semiconductor, microelectronics, power generation, pharmaceutical, and biotech applications. Our core competence is the in-line measurement of conductivity, resistivity, TOC, dissolved oxygen, dissolved ozone and related parameters in determining and controlling water purity.

The Configuration Management Supervisor is responsible for process execution associated with engineering change, product data management and document control. This role provides direct oversite for, and proposes and implements changes to related processes. 

You will set priorities to guide daily activities for Configuration Management, to meet goals, objectives, and quality standards. 
Prioritizes and schedules work based on projects and on-going tasks.

This role will be the primary responsible for understanding and enforcing general Material Data Governance policies within the organization.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Engineering Change and Document Control
  • Champion the Engineering Change process to ensure each member of the organization fully understands the engineering change process, and their role within that process. Guide requestors in the proper submission of engineering changes.
  • Work with all functional areas to coordinate and plan activity associated with engineering changes to facilitate smooth and timely implementation aligned with organizational priorities. Ensure that all necessary stakeholders are appropriately involved in the approval, design and implementation of each engineering change.
  • Manage all aspects of the engineering change process ensuring that each change is approved and executed in a reasonable time, and stakeholders are well informed throughout the process. Propose and routinely report on ECM KPI's. Make performance transparent and so that disruptions are visible and, quickly addressed.
  • Manage and control local product documentation including but not limited to engineering drawings, work instructions, assembly procedures, operating manuals, and other documentation as required by the business.
  • With ECM requestors and contributors to ensure a high degree of accuracy throughout all stages of the ECM process. Verify and analyze engineering change documentation to ensure submissions are complete and accurate.
  • Serve as a backup for Configuration Specialists.
Product Data/ERP System Management
  • You will be the local expert for SAP applications and process associated with Configuration Management including Material Master Data, Material Introduction, Bills of Materials, Document Info Records and Change Masters. Provide training on these system processes and practices within the organization, as needed.
  • Maintain product data within the ERP system, including material masters, and Bill of Materials and Document Info Records within the ERP System.
  • Work with project and Engineering teams to ensure product structures are established for NPDI projects and Engineering Changes where applicable.
  • Assist Document Control Specialists with the proper and accurate maintenance of business information within the ERP system.
Master Data Management
  • Responsible for all Material Data management activities within the organization. Drive change within the organization to deepen understanding and use of good data and standard processes to help improve data quality and consistency.
  • Participate in New Product Development projects to facilitate effective data creation as part of Product Introduction.
  • Provide local enforcement of corporate Global Data Governance policies. Act as the organization's primary Data Steward and point of contact with Global Data Governance.
  • Monitor the Material Introduction processes. Facilitate this process within the organization to ensure timely completion material enrichment.
Other Responsibilities
  • You will supports and assist in the completion of additional projects, as assigned
  • Writes and updates operating procedures for existing operations, as needed.
  • Participates in intra-company teams such as Audit, Safety and Recreation

What You Need to Succeed

  • Associate's Degree in an engineering discipline required - equivalent work experience strongly considered.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred. 
  • Three or more years' experience with Documentation Control in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment in one of the following areas preferred:
    • Engineering Change coordination
    • Manufacturing Engineering
    • Project Administration
  • Experience with SAP is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with mechanical CAD software, 3D modeling skills are a plus.
  • Proficient in the use Microsoft Office suite including Word, Visio, Outlook and especially Excel. 
  • Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project a plus.
  • Ability to deliver internal training presentations required.
