Master Data Management Specialist/ Associate Buyer

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, this role presents an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who wants own and play a pivotal role to enrich a core key process for the entire company. The candidate will be a focal for the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team with regards to Master Data Management. In addition, the role will have the responsibility of taking on some introductory level buying for the SCM team.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Review, prepare and tender various Request-For-Quote packages based on our internal drawings to an existing set of key suppliers. 
  • Follow through will be expected to maintain a set of Master Data relevant to the internal Supply Chain processes to allow parts to flow on to the procurement team in timely manner. 
  • Creation and maintenance of internal master data points: PIR's, Source Lists, relevant master data for delivery timelines and schedules that support the requirements of the production line. 
  • Provide back office support to the SCM team with regards to daily report creation, a defined criteria of indirect Buying, and administrative tasks. 
  • Assist with any Material Controlling coverages needed within the department due to annual leave.
  • Total ownership, with influence and feedback loops from other employees in the Supply Chain, on material master data enrichment, source list selection and MDG Workflow.
  • Support the cross-company SAP system and deploy developments as required.
  • Export and asses a specific set of Purchase Requisitions, from our SAP system, related to an indirect nature: These tend to be requests for procurement of an indirect nature. The qualified candidate would then be responsible to place those requisitions with the relevant suppliers, and ensure order confirmations are maintained.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Minimum of 3 years knowledge and experience in a materials management function carrying out material control, product development and/or dealing with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience with SAP would be beneficial, and a good working knowledge of material management systems including MRP.
  • Ability to drive results whilst working across a wide range of stakeholders including purchasing, material planning and manufacturing.
  • Delivery focused - with demonstrable track record of on-time delivery.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise tasks and time efficiently.
  • Can identify and resolve issues affecting on-time delivery.  
  • Excellent organizational skills.
