Technical Project Manager

Role/Purpose:

The Technical Project Manager is a hybrid role bridging multiple departments. This role will complete product and reject testing to help design and configure X-Ray solutions for a wide variety of applications. This role will support production with machine issues and support service as and when needed with escalations out in the field along with supporting the commercial team with trials and technical assistance.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out X-Ray product testing including reject device options and present the sales team with detailed reports.
  • Support the production organization with machine problems both software and hardware related.
  • Attend trade shows and support with set-up and commercial activities.
  • Ability to review and articulate technical documents (e.g. User Requirement Specification (URS), Request for Test (RFT), etc.)
  • Recognize and solve potential problems and evaluate project/program effectiveness
  • Ensure coordination with Sales, R&D, Software, Product Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Production and Service to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Clarify technical scopes to Sales and Customers. 
  • Work closely with Product Management and R&D on current offerings and future developments.
  • Support Service with troubleshooting.
  • Subject matter expert for all things X-Ray for all departments.
  • Attend complex customer service issues and help rectify problems in the field in a professional manner as and when required.
  • Conduct X-Ray product tests, e-Demos, host Customer Visits, and conduct FATs for customers in an effective, detailed and timely manner.
  • Record test data in a detailed format along with test methodology, application criteria and system requirements. Keep Regional Sales Manager, Sales Engineer and Sales Rep informed of concerns.
  • Help manage application inventory and storage. (Ability to lift 25 to 50lbs for extended periods of time and wire voltages to systems).
  • Ensure Application Center meets 5S initiatives.
    • Other duties and tasks as assigned

  • AutoCAD proficient
  • Electrical and Mechanical aptitude
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Demonstrate a disciplined customer satisfaction model incorporating – quality, etiquette, attitude, responsiveness, convenience and follow-up
  • Communication – effectively communicate appropriate information and ideas with appropriate parties utilizing a high degree of integrity. Clearly and honestly share information and convey information without blame. Building relationships and fulfill customer needs through disciplined listening and receptiveness to contrary ideas. Demonstrate negotiating skills through effective listening, soliciting feedback and interpersonal give and take, allowing team to arrive at a decision based on mutual trust and respect.
  • Process orientation – understand all areas of responsibility in own process, goals of process and how process supports organization. Look for and identify inefficiencies in process and recommend solution for continuous improvement

Minimum Education / Experience Required:
  • Associates degree or equivalent technical training.
  • Bachelors degree preferred. 
  • 5 + years Hands on Engineering or Application Engineering experience
  • 5 + years automated machinery design experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Material handling experience is a plus.
  • Experience with IP and NEMA ratings.

  • 40% Travel
