Depot Service Technician

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Rainin, a subsidiary of Mettler Toledo, is currently looking for a Depot Service Technician in the Boston MA., facility.  In this role you will work, engage and represent Rainin pipettes to our customers, through testing, cleaning, repairing and reassembling Rainin pipettes, as well as, other brands of pipettes not distributed by Rainin.  You will conduct mechanical and electronic measuring, recording, and inspection on pipettes served to ensure conformance to established specifications. 

  • Performs inspections on units received for component defects and ensures all repair work meets established quality standards.
  • Completes repair estimates
  • Expedites priority orders through ERP system.
  • Works Saturdays as needed to support Saturday Service Program and to complete other work as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Education and/or Experience:                   
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); minimum of one year related experience in Manufacturing, Instrumentation, and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and prior work experience. Previous knowledge or work experience with pipettes preferred.          
  • Language Skills:                   
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Mathematical Skills:                   
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. 
  • Reasoning Ability:                   
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. 
  • Computer Skills:                   
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a basic knowledge of computers and a working knowledge of common Microsoft Office programs.
