- Layout, fit, and weld materials using support tools such as production orders, standard work, blueprints, and other documents related to the Engineering/Customer specification.
- Maintain accurate records such as production orders, data collection, and Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) sheets.
- Maintenance all welding equipment used in the department.
- Maintain stock control, pull items for orders, work in other departments, and complete other related duties as required to fulfill customer orders.
- Perform daily activities safely and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Actively participate in facility 5S and Lean initiatives.
- Safely operate fork trucks and cranes.
- Maintain quality throughout the weld process.
You must be a High School graduate with excellent math and reading / writing ability, have prior fork-lift / crane certification (preferred); the ability to be certified required.
Current or past AWS certification for D1.1 or D1.5 preferred. Also you must have:
· Ability to read and interpret standard AWS (American Welding Society) symbols.
· Ability to work effectively with torches, cutters, staplers, hand/pneumatic tools, and hand tools (hammers, torque wrench, crow bars, etc.).
· Ability to work with fixtures.
· Ability to safely operate Jib and overhead cranes.
· Ability to operate welding equipment.
· Ability to perform quality inspections based on set expectations.
· Ability to safely operate a forklift.
· Demonstrated good attendance and punctuality record.
· Good verbal communication skills.
· Good problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
· Ability to learn basic computer skills involving SAP and Microsoft Office.
· Ability to understand fractions, decimals, and measurement techniques.
· Ability and drive to meet customer quality and delivery requirements.
· Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
· Ability to inspect own work and the work of others.
· Strong organizational skills with a focus on details.
· Ability to work overtime when required (some on weekends).
· Ability to work from order schedules.
· Ability to follow directions.
