Summary 

Be the go-to expert for the assigned material categories, delivering innovation, total cost and supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery), improvements. Assist in development of procurement strategies and drive the strategy implementation in close collaboration with the category manager. Drive standardization and utilization of globally preferred suppliers and modules. 

This Position is based in Columbus, OH

An ideal candidate would have a background in Supply Chain with either a degree or Electrical Engineering or experience in the field that is comparable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Assist in procurement strategy development and drive the strategy implementation in close collaboration with a category manager 
• Supplier evaluation and selection, strategic supplier management (audits, performance reviews, negotiations) 
• Consult in product development and engineering changes in close collaboration with R&D, project and product managers. Establish yourself as the go-to technical expert for automation, electric motors and network modules 
• Maintain the material library through the whole material lifecycle (introduction, maintenance, change, phase-out) 
• Coordinate multi-unit, cross-functional global projects and support both regional and global implementations 
• Identify and implement savings opportunities by transferring and applying best practices 
• Single point of contact for dedicated US business units as coordinator within global procurement 
• Other duties may be assigned

What You Need to Succeed

Education, Experience & Skills 

• Prefer Master degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical Engineering 
• Experience in R&D, supply chain management, consulting, key account management or related field 
• Experience in working within a global, cross-functional, and multicultural environment 
• Open-minded and engaged personality 
• Solid financial acumen and strong analytical skills 
• Ability to communicate ideas and push them through without having the authority to give directives 
• Ability to effectively present information and react to questions and requests from all levels of an organization. 
• Proficient user of MS Office, SAP 
• Excellent English written and oral communication skills are required
