Summary:
MTNA Service takes a people-first approach to building a workforce of extraordinary talent. This Industrial Training and Technical Manager will champion & manage all aspects of Field Service Training & Development and A2LA Compliance. In doing so, the manager will consult, guide and partner with the Mettler Toledo North American Service Leadership Team, MT Global Service & Various business partners to evaluate and assess the necessary technical and soft skills. With that, the manager will:
1. Define, develop, and deliver practical workshops, eLearning, and skill assessments to industrial service technician at all levels. Assist Training Development teams in creation of skill-based content to ensure field service capabilities either directly or by assigned resources. In addition, this position is responsible for either conducting or the oversight of Field Service training conducted at regional or national level. The incumbent should utilize an established framework that marries employee's desire for development and advancement with business need to execute at the highest level of effectiveness. Incumbent should also be strategic, proactively investigate, and pursue all legitimate training needs within the organization consistent with constraints and practical limitations as may be imposed. (50%)
2. Ensure requirements of the A2LA Accreditation, including managing assessments/audits for renewal & surveillance, implementing corrective actions, facilitating internal field audits and proficiency testing, auditing test weight certificates, training direct & distributor accredited technicians, providing customer support for accredited field service, conducting A2LA QMS document review and revisions. and manage the MT authorized Distributors/AFRs. (50%)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Works with the Area Service Leaders to develop an annual plans and schedules of training that reflects the training needs of the Field Service organization and is aligned to strategic, and business plans, needs, plans, and priorities. Meets/Presents updates periodically with the Service Leadership team and discusses changing needs.
• Meets regularly with Industrial Service Operations Leaders and their teams to outline their current short-term and long-term training requirements then coordinate with Head of Training to develop plans.
• Develop and perform assessments activities to determine content, direction, and approach to training and to validate the appropriateness of training to makes modifications as required.
• Defines and executes regional training for Mettler Toledo personnel, Authorized Distributor personnel, and End User Customers.
• Prepares an annual capital plan for equipment required to conduct training classes. Prepares supporting Project Approval Requests (PAR) as necessary. To order equipment, submits a purchase order, along with a copy of the approved PAR. (Annually, with orders placed against PAR’s at irregular intervals)
• Monitors actual expenses monthly to control costs; Adjusts when necessary. Submits reports monthly as prescribed and provides/briefs the Service Leadership Team with an annual and semi-annual report.
• Fulfills the requirements of the A2LA Accreditation including managing assessments/audits for renewal & surveillance, implementing corrective actions, facilitating internal field audits and proficiency testing, auditing test weight certificates, training direct & distributor accredited technicians, providing customer support for accredited field service, conducting A2LA QMS document review and revisions and manage the MT authorized Distributors/AFRs.
• Drives improvement in the US Industrial Division's knowledge, understanding, and application of metrology principles, Weights and Measures requirements, and calibration testing procedures by conducting training and developing and publishing work procedures.
- Help to develop and deploy strategies to provide knowledge transfer to teams using modern tools like applications and AI assisted tools.
