Portfolio Management Specialist

Role/Purpose:

The Portfolio Management Specialist is responsible for managing the flow of project requests from the initial idea through assessment, approval, implementation, and closure. Reporting to the Manager of Portfolio Management, this role involves supporting timeline release planning, identifying and addressing off-track projects, managing risks and issues, and conducting Project Steering Committee meetings. The specialist will manage a funnel of new initiatives and projects.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage project requests from Idea through Assess to Decide and after Go-Live through Adoption to Close Out
  • Support timeline release planning of ongoing projects in collaboration with the project managers
  • Identify off-track projects and work with project managers to identify measures for these projects
  • Manage risks and issues for projects
  • Conduct Project Steering Committee meetings
  • Manage the funnel of new initiatives / projects

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor degree in IT, Business Administration or related area. 
  • At least 5 years working experience in IT or related area.
  • At least 3 years working experience in project and/or portfolio management roles.
  • Working experience in an international distributed organization.
  • Advanced communication and presentation skills.
  • Structured approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to learn quickly and independently drive to perform.
