Production Manager - Fabrication (2nd Shift (M-T 3:15 PM - 1:45 AM)

Role/Purpose:
The Production Manager will supervise the 2nd shift processes of Fabricators, Product Finishers, or Machinists, ensuring the efficient and timely production of high-quality products. This position will report to the 1st shift Production manager and demands strong leadership capabilities, technical expertise in fabrication methods, and a steadfast commitment to safety and quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise the fabrication team, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance
  • Develop and implement training to enhance team skills and knowledge
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate fabrication activities to meet production schedules and deadlines
  • Foster good relationships within other shifts and work closely to ensure consistency
  • Monitor fabrication processes to ensure adherence to quality standards 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly to minimize downtime
  • Establish and enforce quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of product quality
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of fabricated products and processes
  • Collaborate with the Quality and Process Improvement Engineers team members to implement corrective actions as needed
  • Manage inventory levels of raw materials and supplies necessary for fabrication processes
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of materials and tools
  • Optimize the use of equipment and resources to enhance productivity
  • Promote a culture of safety within the fabrication department, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and protocols
  • Conduct safety training sessions and regular safety audits
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of production activities, including output, quality metrics, and staff performance
  • Generate reports for management on production status, challenges, and opportunities for improvement
  • Utilize timekeeping system to monitor worked hours, planned leave, and unplanned absences
  • Maintain Lean Management and 5S systems and monitor closely for adherence and continuous improvement
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned

  • Leadership and team management

  • Technical knowledge of fabrication techniques
  • Safety compliance and risk management
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Managerial experience in a fast paced environment preferred
  • Process documentation 
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., CAD, SAP preferred)
  • Microsoft Office Suite with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with advanced skills in data analysis, pivot tables, and complex formulas 
  • Lean Mindset/Continuous Improvement
This position is considered safety sensitive and is subject to drug testing as permitted by law.

**OVERTIME MAY BE REQUIRED BASED ON BUSINESS NEEDS.**


Minimum Education / Experience Required:
  • Minimum of five years supervisory experience or demonstrated progression as a subject matter expert in your field
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field is strongly preferred or a Minimum of a Technical Degree
