Role/Purpose:
The role of Head of Supply Chain is a pivotal leadership position, overseeing end-to-end supply chain for internal and external procured materials, as well as manufactured products. The Head of Supply Chain ensures our supply chain is efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with the business's objectives. This role involves leadership for Order Management, Master Data Governance, Production Planning & scheduling, Procurement, and Inventory Control.

This role requires close coordination with METTLER TOLEDO’s Producing Organizations (PO's), Strategic Business Units (SBU's) and Market Organizations (MO's) to coordinate on- time delivery of product with highest service levels. This leader will be responsible driving improvements in key performance metrics related to delivery, material cost, inventory, and productivity.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Leading the Supply Chain, consisting of the PO Order Management department, the Sales & Operations Planning department, the Purchasing department, the Master Data Governance team, and the Inventory Control team, to manage end-to- end supply chain for internal and external procured materials, as well as manufactured products for PIUS.
  • Oversee Order Management for the PO to ensure the establishment and execution of the end-to-end sales order management processes between PIUS-PO and all related Mettler-Toledo MO's. Drive effective order escalation process.
  • Responsible for supply chain planning and inventory management to ensure optimized stock levels while meeting SCM key metrics (customer service level, ITO, net inventory)
  • Manage procurement to ensure on-time product availability while meeting OTD, order fulfilment, ITO goals and including managing and developing domestic and international suppliers, negotiating contracts, terms & conditions, pricing, quality, and delivery requirements while meeting SternDrive Material Cost Reduction targets.
  • Oversee production planning to ensure proper scheduling of production orders to meet customer requested delivery dates and order fulfilment times while keeping the sales order backlog at target levels.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with global and domestic customs regulations for materials stocked, used, bought, supplied, sold, or traded within the PIUS-PO.
  • Lead a team of master data stewards to ensure master data quality and accuracy, and to develop and implement master data governance policies
  • Oversee inventory control to ensure adherence with internal and external audit requirements for inventory, including managing a cycle count program.
  • Develop strategies to consistently improve end-to-end supply chains for specific product families, ranging from supplier-supplier to customer-customer
  • Partner with GSCM team & Global Logistics to ensure supply chain initiatives are properly implemented, with little or no interruption to OTD and order fulfilment
  • Effectively develop & drive PIUS Supply Chain Strategy, E2E lead time reductions by leveraging lean & continuous improvement principles.
  • Act as SCM business process owner, SAP SCM key user and SAP BI power user
  • Champion PIUS Vision, Mission and Goals and foster a true One Team Culture.

What You Need to Succeed

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Extensive management experience in planning, developing, improving and execution of all Supply Chain related processes and procedures, including master data management, order management, tactical and strategic procurement, demand planning, and inventory management. 
  • Proven track record of delivering business results and demonstrated ability to mobilize and influence the organization. 
  • Strong Leadership and supervisory skills, combined with the ability to build talent within the team through coaching, opportunities and team growth by fostering an environment that is a destination for talent. 
  • Results oriented with the demonstrated ability to apply strategic and decisive problem-solving skills in ambiguous situations. 
  • Strong change management, facilitation, and communication skills coupled with a demonstrated ability to drive improvement
  • Knowledgeable in risk assessment and risk prioritization. 
  • Experience in analyzing existing processes and procedures, identify the weak areas and potential flaws in the system, develop procedural and/or technical solutions eliminating or mitigating risks. 
  • Knowledgeable in managing cost and budgets combined with financial proficiency to be able to judge implications of initiatives and actions on the key financial targets of POs and MOs.
  • Accustomed and proficient at working in global teams and with global partners. 
  • Deep understanding of SAP systems and SAP-driven/based Supply Chain systems.
  • Conceptual and analytical skills to focus on the end-to-end in a dynamic and challenging environment. 
  • Open and effective communication style, excellent public presentation skills, strong people skills, cross-organizational teamwork and the ability to interact with and influence the direction of key opinion leaders.

Minimum Education / Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field. Mettler-Toledo will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, or Operations Management.
