Associate Project Manager

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Working closely with PMO, the Associate Project Manager will both manage and assist in the management of the Rainin New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI) process to facilitate cross functional teamwork. During the NPD process, the Associate Project Manager will generate or facilitate generation of the required project documentation to guide and assist the project team in the predictable execution and launch of Key Milestones and Product Launches.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. 
  • Effectively collaborates to drive participation of the project team.
  • Supports projects using project management processes and tools.
  • Maintains awareness of project or portfolio governance.
  • Provides administrative support, including communicating project expectations, updates, and potential risks to team members and stakeholders.
  • May have financial reconciliation responsibilities.
  • Ensures risk management and procedural compliance of projects.
  • Partners with stakeholders to ensure accuracy of project deliverables and timelines.
  • Produces quality deliverables within deadlines.
  • Reports status of assigned work effort.
  • Identifies, tracks, and manages project issues.
  • Ensures project processes and procedures are followed.
  • Learn how to partner with leads, as well as other agency resources, to manage the production and delivery of great work (this includes: managing multiple smaller projects and supporting more senior level roles on larger projects from end-to-end).
  • Aid in project and product documentation such as MRD, TRD, risk register, issue logs, assumptions and constraints and lessons learned for each project undertaken.
  • Ensure problems are transparent and risks are identified and proactively ensure that risk mitigating actions are ongoing within the engineering teams.
  • Develop and execution of Project documentation related to the five stages of Project Management, Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitor & Control, and Closing. 
  • Strong communications are critical to the position.
  • Concise, timely and professional communications (verbal, written) are a must.
  • Meets training requirements and follows established procedures.

What You Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of project management experience
  • Demonstrated skills in planning, budgeting and project management directed toward achievement of business goals. 
  • Demonstrated experience with Project management tools.
  • Must be able to function and lead in a team environment.
  • Proven skills working with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong interpersonal negotiating, influencing and facilitation skills. 
  • Excellent reading, writing and platform skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Advanced skills with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university (Biomedical Engineering)
  • PMP certification, PMI CAPM certification with PM experience in medical technology or handheld device engineering.
  • Solid past performance as an Engineering Team leads or Project Manager. 
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
  • Knowledgeable of the Change Management Process 
  • Has participated in at least two complete Product development cycles from design to launch.
  • Experience with agile project management methodologies
  • Scrum Master certification
  • Familiarity with FDA, QSR, and ISO 13485 medical device regulations and standards
  • Experience leading NPD sub teams
