Role/Purpose:
The Technical Sales Specialist Present, promote and sell recommended spare parts kit for Product Inspection equipment. Provide service sales support to customers and sales representatives before and after initial product sales.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Deliver World Class Customer service with a focus on increasing customer retention rate and providing outstanding customer support
  • Build repeat sales opportunities through strong customer relationships by focusing on customers’ wants and needs
  • Drive metal detection, checkweigher, x-ray and vision spare parts sales growth
  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, researching customers product orders, establishing recommended spares needs, preparing proposals and processing orders accurately with complete customer satisfaction
  • Thorough follow-up on all leads generated in the marketing process
  • Collaborate with new sales, engineering and quality control, research and analyze Bill of Materials (BOM) and engineering drawings to provide accurate information to the customer and the proposal process
  • Consistently and accurately follow spares sales process including sales forecasting
  • Communicate with other MT departments in order to ensure orders are expedited and satisfy customer requirements 
  • Provide to the customer and interdepartmental personnel order status follow-up, evaluate pending issues and address to ensure accurate order fulfillment
  • Report to management all order fulfillment problems, dissatisfied customers and issues that impact the ability to deliver the customer
  • Provide service agreements leads to the service contract sales specialist during the spares proposal process
  • Assist in the key account development of recommended spares and related programs
  • Assist in establishing part prices for items or parts not having a price
  • Maintain SOPs on recommended spares process as needed
  • Understand and achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Other duties as assigned 

What You Need to Succeed

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent organizational skills, efficient and detail-oriented 
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal, to foster interaction within all levels of the organization, prospects and customers 
  • Skilled in researching BOM, engineering reports and drawings
  • Skilled in operating a personal computer 
  • Ability to handle complex operations while engaged with the customer on the phone
  • Capable of handling multiple projects with changing priorities and deadlines 
  • Able to work well in a highly energized environment, can handle distractions, works as a team player 
  • Able to understand basic knowledge of metal detectors, checkweigher, x-ray and vision equipment beneficial 
  • Experience with computerized office systems and software (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Outlook)
  • Experience in SAP or another ERP software system and SalesLogix helpful


Minimum Education / Experience Required:
  • Associate Degree in Business; Bachelor's degree strongly urged, with proven sales or marketing work history
  • 3-5 years' prior experience selling in a B2B environment
