Senior CAD Administrator

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Role/Purpose:
This position is responsible for Maintaining Design Standards for all of Engineering, and enhance the user experience by developing and implementing streamlined design workflows. These systems and processes work toward the goal of increasing overall Engineering production and quality. The position will oversee Technical Projects and various activities in support of the engineering management function of the organization.  In support of these goals, the Senior CAD Administrator will directly or indirectly lead a team of Engineers, Engineering Interns, or Engineering Administrators.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Teamcenter Power User 
    • Provide user support
    • Work with Global PLM Team
    • Document and Resolve Internal Issues and Incidents
    • Develop Standard Operating Procedures
    • Collaborate with Global PLM users within the organization
    • Create and Track SNOW Incidents for all users as needed
  • CAD Subject Matter Expert
    • Provide expert knowledge of CAD systems
    • Maintain Design Style and Standards for all users
    • Install and Configure Engineering Software
    • Identify and Analyze user needs as well as equipment requirements
    • Develop and Maintain user References and Training Materials
    • Provide Training and support for new and existing users
  • Computer Technology Supporter
    • Develop Custom Tools to improve Engineering efficiency
    • Work closely with IT for Engineering requirements
    • Deploy Software Upgrades to users
    • Perform software and operating system maintenance 
    • Maintain Software Licenses and System Requirements for all users
  • iLogic Template Developer
    • Develop Design Enhancing Add-ins
    • Integrate Design Standards and Quality Assurances for all users
    • Decrease Engineering Design Time
    • Use Programming Language to Develop Intelligent CAD Data
    • Customize Design Templates to increase Engineering production
  • Enforcing of Design Standards
    • Identify potential / existing issues and implement preventative solutions
    • Work with Quality and Service to improve Design Methods
    • Reduce re-work and service issues related to Engineering
    • Initiate Corrective Actions and Rectify breaches in Quality and Standards
    • Investigate Technical Aspects and Root Cause of design errors
    • Develop Design Guidelines and create supporting documentation
  • Manage Engineering Projects 
    • Streamline Engineering Work Processes
    • Crystal Report Development and Maintenance
    • Assess Engineering needs and make necessary improvements
    • Ensure Collaborative relationship with other departments
    • Consolidate and Manage archive and legacy engineering data 
    • Maintain engineering information databases
  • Occasional travel required (up to 15%) for meetings with the Global PLM team, consultations with SMEs from other sites, trade conventions, and other opportunities to help grow our CAD implementation
  • Maintains highest achievable 5S ratings throughout all areas of responsibility
  • Always considers the company Green Initiative when planning activities, procuring supplies or disposing of materials or other assets

What You Need to Succeed

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Good knowledge of Engineering, Fabrication, and Assembly processes.
  • Good task and project management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to provide informative and professional assistance when working with internal customers and co-workers, including maintaining positive interpersonal relationships which encourage openness.
  • Demonstration of strong verbal and written communication skills to produce accurate, professional and error-free information.
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity and ability to be a leader in dealing with multinational corporations.
  • Maintain professional attitude with exceptional interpersonal skills.

Minimum Education / Experience Required:
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree preferred or a Technical degree with a minimum of 2 years experience
  • Drafting Skills
  • Autodesk Inventor
  • Knowledge of GD&T
  • Microsoft Office proficient
  • Software Development Skills
  • Autodesk iLogic experience preferred
  • Programming language experience required (C Sharp, VB.net, or similar)
  • PLM Systems Experience
  • Teamcenter experience preferred
  • SAP experience a plus.
