- This position is responsible for providing cleaning welds, preparing, finishing, and polishing metal surfaces to ensure quality and aesthetic standards are met. This person will work with various tools and techniques to achieve the desired finish and collaborate with other team members to ensure production efficiency.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform acid-washing and perform "wash-down" operations cleaning weldments of heat marks
- Perform dimensional inspection checks on all parts
- Utilize grinders, sanders, air tools, and perform maintenance
- Achieve burr free edging of items
- Perform all assigned tasks in a manner that adheres to all internal safety protocols
- Read blueprints from designers and engineers
- Utilize software for the retrieval and management of technical drawings
- Utilize both metric and imperial tape measures accurately
- Following the work schedule as assigned and ability to layout the correct priorities for the work scheduled
- Ensure all parts produced are confirmed in the ERP system, tagged, and staged in proper locations.
- Follow SOP and OPLs
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery
- Perform Quality at The Source checks on made parts
- Accurately record actual labor estimates on all production orders
- Keep work area(s) clean and organized to 5S standards
- All other duties as assigned
- Hand tool experience
- Knowledge of different types of metals and their properties
- Able to grasp the paperwork flow system and proper placement of parts within the company staging system
- Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. and work in multiple positions (ie stand, sit, lay, squat, bend, kneeling) for prolonged periods of time
- Knowledge of safety procedures and proper handling of chemicals and abrasives
- Ability to prioritize and problem solve
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints and engineering drawings
- Preventive maintenance on acid washing machine
- ERP system experience (SAP Preferred)
- Basic Lean Manufacturing understanding
- Ability to multi-task
- Able to follow written and oral instruction
- Ability to work in a high-paced environment
- Detailed oriented
- Standing, walking, and bending for long periods of time
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures
- Dexterity and hand and eye coordination
- Always wear appropriate PPE and maintain a safe workspace while ensuring proper equipment use and fire safety during polishing

- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year minimum experience in Manufacturing or similar relevant environment
