Field Service Technician – Industrial Weighing Products

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

As a Field Service Technician, you will be the on-site expert customers rely on to keep their floor and bench scales running safely, accurately, and efficiently. You will perform preventative maintenance, calibrations, and basic repairs while representing the company professionally at customer locations across your assigned region. 
What you will do 
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and calibration on industrial and lab weighing equipment (primarily floor scales and bench scales) at customer sites, following established procedures and safety standards. 
• Troubleshoot basic issues and support installations, projects, and repairs as needed, partnering with more experienced technicians when required. 
• Provide end-user training so operators understand how to use and care for their equipment correctly. 
• Use a company laptop and service software to document work performed, update service records, and maintain data integrity in the service database each day. 
• Communicate closely with the Scheduling Analyst, Service Support Team, sales, and fellow technicians to meet customer uptime and response-time expectations. 
• Maintain your company vehicle and assigned parts inventory in a clean, organized, and compliant manner. 
• Support service revenue by identifying service or product needs and submitting sales leads in line with your experience level. 
Follow all company, customer, safety, and quality policies to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and others.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Valid driver's license required. 
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED, or 5 years of relevant experience. 
  • Customer-facing or field service experience preferred; commercial experience desired. 
  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical repair philosophies, including PC networking and software configuration. 
  • 1 to 3 years of electro/mechanical repair or weighing industry experience. 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Weights and Measures license; failure to do so may result in termination. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to learn proprietary software and update information using METTLER TOLEDO programs. 
  • Willingness and ability to travel overnight up to 10% on average, potentially up to 25%, primarily by company vehicle or plane. 
  • Must reside within the service territory. 
  • Ability to work overtime averaging 10-15%, possibly up to 25%. 
  • Willingness to work in environments with hazards such as chemicals, solvents, vehicle traffic, machinery, dust, dirt, cold, and fumes. 
  • Willingness to wear protective equipment and clothing when required. 
  • Position is safety sensitive and subject to drug testing, including DOT drug and alcohol testing and physical exam. 
  • Physical ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally handle heavier loads by carrying, pushing, or pulling. 
  • Frequent physical movements required such as crouching, stooping, kneeling, and repeated bending for safe and efficient job performance.
