Senior Human Resources Manager

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

The job is responsible for managing all aspects of Company Human Resources policies and functions for corporate operations and office functions. Assumes responsibility for the effective performance of various Human Resources functions, including talent acquisition processes compensation, benefits, employee relations and engagement, employee training and development, and for ensuring compliance with governmental regulations. Provides recommendations to Head Human Resources, North America and Senior Leaders as appropriate in establishing overall human resource objectives, policies, and plans. Ensures Human Resources activities are conducted in accordance with established Company policies and procedures. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Understand and respond to business needs in part by developing strong relationships with business leaders / key employees. 
  • Identifies and recommends best practices to foster increased effectiveness and efficiencies across the HR function. Able to balance the need for consistency and structure with the need to empower leaders to take action when needed. 
  • Leads and advocates for all Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) activities in the unit. Works with regional and global colleagues to implement programs and align resources around key DE&I initiatives. 
  • Works alongside the centralized recruiting team to support Hiring Managers build the employer brand of METTLER TOLEDO and attract and secure a qualified and productive workforce. 
  • Owns the employee survey process and leads the unit's efforts in employee engagement. A
  • Works closely with centralized payroll and benefits teams to ensure appropriate plan implementation and support for all employees. 
  • Coach all leaders in active performance / situation management through both the performance evaluation process as well as daily activities / opportunities. 
  • Work with leadership to continually ensure that appropriate staffing decisions are made for long-term business interests by filling positions with high quality individuals, ensuring open communication and full integrity during the process. 
  • Support the onboarding and orientation of new employees to prepare them properly, convey company culture, and foster employee engagement. 
  • Lead and support execution of key annual HR processes such as performance evaluations, compensation reviews, and bonus determination, payments, and financial accrual processes. 
  • Utilize and manage company processes to create a true status report of employee capabilities, skills, and qualities as well as weaknesses and development opportunities, aid in succession planning 
  • Take a personal lead in critical initiatives, human resources matters and investigations, as needed. 
  • Drive improvements through open feedback and assurance of full integrity in all situations. 
  • Will manage direct report(s) who focus on successful completion of HR administration. 
  • Provide oversight of job definition and corresponding compensation programs. 
  • Support the compliance team to complete all required government forms and manage any government audits or complaints. 
  • Support the training group to organize and provide applicable training. 
  • Manage relationships with other MT units as well as with outside companies. 
  • Other duties may be assigned.

What You Need to Succeed

Education, Experience & Skills 
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a closely related field. 
  • Five or more years of progressive experience in human resource and leadership positions. 
  • Experience in a corporate office environment with the ability to work cross functionally and in a global matrixed organization 
  • Strong communication, collaboration and planning skills, relationship development and attention to detail. •
  • Creative problem-solving and organizational skills is a must. 
  • Ability to get results through influencing others and driving consensus 
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred but not required.

Travel Requirements - Travel requirements for this position are typically 0% - 10% and will require the ability to travel to domestically within the U.S. and internationally.
