Senior Pricing Analyst

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Mettler-Toledo PIUS-MO has an opening for a Senior Pricing Analyst position focusing on supporting the local organization and broader Group teams in managing the pricing strategy and reports to the Business Area Controller.

Summary: 
Responsible for analyzing and facilitating the pricing strategies and activities within PIUS-MO along with requirements from the Group Pricing organization. It is expected this position will drive improvements in our pricing systems in conjunction with the Sales, Service, and Finance teams in order to achieve pricing goals and business development strategies. This person will also be at the forefront of identifying and coordinating with the appropriate department resources to address any price related issues in the setup, maintenance, or daily operations of the SAP/CRM system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Leads and facilitates the identification, development, and attainment of stakeholder approval for large customer opportunities.
  • Provides key support in customer contract negotiations
  • Performs monthly and year-to-date price realization calculations
  • Reports on monthly and year-to-date discount patterns and results and makes suggestions to Sr. stakeholders for areas of opportunity
  • Leads and facilitates the annual price increase update including the analysis, review, approval capture, submission, and subsequent validation
  • Leads and facilitates any mid-year price increase updates including the analysis, review, approval capture, submission, and subsequent validation
  • Plays a key role in product line value price map exercises along with tracking subsequent implementation actions
  • Monitors and tracks market trends in food and beverage and consumer staple markets
  • Provides key support to Finance team in areas of business analysis
  • Provides key support to Finance team during the annual budget submission related to sales and margin projections
  • Provides key support to Group Pricing including presentations, ad hoc requests, and partnering on Group pricing initiatives
  • Monitoring and analyzing intercompany overlapping opportunities
  • Developing and implementing pricing policies and guidelines
  • Conducting market research to understand customer behavior and competitor pricing strategies
    • Other ad-hoc analysis as needed

What You Need to Succeed

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Intermediate level experience with ERP systems
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to produce information and communicate observations, implications, and conclusions in a business context 
  • Business/financial modeling. Ability to mine data and translate business information into models to assist in effective decision making
  • Ideal skills would include detail orientation, "can do" attitude, and strong problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral), including the ability to effectively interact with sales managers from various regions and even countries
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
  • Quickly grasps and understands business implications of decisions
  • Project management and organizational skills. Establishes priorities and/or processes to facilitate efficient execution of responsibilities
  • Detailed oriented, hands-on approach
  • Results and achievement oriented; assertiveness and initiative in driving projects to completion
  • Must be viewed as an expert and welcomed contributor. Must also develop working relationships, trust, and confidence while maintaining a willingness to challenge peers and managers when necessary to insure appropriate compliance with pricing strategy, policy, procedures, and controls

Minimum Education / Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics or related discipline is required
  • Four to seven years related experience in a similar business environment
