Sr. Production Planner

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

As our Sr. Production Planner, you will work with our production team to ensure effective demand planning, capacity planning, and pull-based production are implemented efficiently. The Sr. Planner will be responsible for ensuring customer demand is met through effective demand and capacity planning while optimizing resources and minimizing waste. This is an excellent opportunity for the process driven Planner looking to apply their knowledge and grow with a market leader. As part of our well-established team, you will be responsible for overall planning of production, including pull/kanban establishment and analysis and variant configured production scheduling. You will also be responsible for overall demand planning and translating that demand plan into actionable production and capacity plans. Lean manufacturing experience highly desirable but not mandatory. Additional responsibilities will include: 
  • Developing and implementing effective demand planning and capacity planning processes based on lean manufacturing principles and pull-based production systems. 
  • Creating production plans and schedules based on demand and capacity information to meet customer needs while optimizing resources and minimizing waste. 
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, procurement, materials, quality, and sales to ensure effective planning and execution of production. 
  • Continuously monitoring and analyzing production metrics to identify areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions. 
  • Supporting new product introductions by developing production plans and ensuring capacity and resources are available to achieve timely launch of new products to market. 
  • Maintaining accurate inventory levels and providing input to procurement to ensure adequate supply of critical components. 
  • Ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations. 
  • Scheduling and leveling of Production Orders by considering available resources (capacity, tools, components/subassemblies, etc.) and handover daily workload to production.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Degree in business management, operations management, or similar is preferred. 
  • 3-5 years of planning experience in a manufacturing/production environment. 
  • Experience in implementing lean manufacturing principles and pull-based production systems. 
  • SAP experience is a plus.
