Service Inside Sales Specialist

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Summary

This role is a part of the Service Inside Sales Team in Columbus, Ohio and is a crucial position aimed at providing world-class support to Laboratory and Industrial customers. Service Inside Sales Representatives will primarily support our Field Sales organization by nurturing inbound requests and leads, as well as actively prospecting to create field-organized visits within high target accounts. The role will require dynamic skills to work with our marketing, field, and management teams to better serve customer needs, which will result in higher sales revenue.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accurately create certificates in a timely manner with a high attention to detail, communicating quality issues to sales team
  • Actively lead customers through the sales cycle from quote to closing of sales, specifically for Weight Calibration, Repair, and Depot service requests
  • Effectively manage inbound customer demand to the Service Quoting inbox
  • Distribute leads correctly and efficiently for Sales Rep follow up
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of processes for repairs, depot service, and weight calibration
  • Manage incoming demand, i.e. calls, emails or mt.com requests for price, availability or quote. Ensure quality service with focus on service level, customer service and urgency to response/follow-up
  • Lead generation through contact with customers: when the involvement of a sales representative is required for high-end product opportunities, execute proper submission of lead details for external pursuit
  • Assure database integrity by validating and correcting the data housed within our CRM at every practical opportunity
  • Entry of sales leads for external sales pursuit; and pursuit of select open leads for closure
  • Accurately and quickly, provide reference quote for products, services, and solutions to accounts that do not need product selection guidance.
  • Assist sales representatives with above baseline targets and/or lead counts with quoting and nurturing support to maximize their productivity.
  • Assist team lead and senior management by providing weekly updates about recurring business issues that require a proactive approach, or trends that suggest alternate sales offers or approaches, through regular communication or team meetings
  • Overall general and technical knowledge and application of the Laboratory business area's product lines and service offerings
  • In-depth knowledge of all internal applications related to lab sales and marketing, including but not limited to SAP CRM and ECC
  • Time management and multi-tasking skills; ability to handle a complex and highly communicative environment
  • The ability to make confident and reasoned decisions regarding processes that affect everyday work, and the ability to understand when to involve Accounting, Sales and Marketing with respect to discounts, and special terms and conditions, is required

Decision making authority includes, but is not restricted to:

  • The ability to determine when and how to involve other departments and teams to ensure that exceptional support is being provided to internal and external customers at all times
  • The ability to determine when and to whom to escalate issues or opportunities that may continue to surface
  • Must establish and maintain an open, professional and efficient means of communication with all internal and external customers.
  • Must take a proactive role with pinpointing breakdowns in processes and communications regarding sales and sales service functions, and be able to provide proactive help with minimal supervision
  • Must establish and maintain an attitude of quickly responding to internal and external customers' needs
  • Ability to work effectively with other Sales and Support team members, including those other BAs, in a highly variable and often stressful environment is required
  • Must work collaboratively and cooperatively within the department and with other teams to meet operational and sales target goals
  • All other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed

Education & Experience

  • At least 2-3 years in sales, customer service and/or marketing experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • A daring spirit and a preference for work in a fast-paced sales environment
  • A confirmed ability and technical acumen to learn our products and sell our service contracts
  • The ability to communicate product knowledge, differentiate from the competition, and solve customer problems
  • Excellent people skills to create rapport with prospects quickly
  • Inbound or outbound call center experience or worked in a sales development role before is a plus
  • Experience using SAP's CRM system is a plus
