- Execution and enhancing Know Your Customer (KYC) checks and maintaining corresponding database assuring compliance with global export control and trade regulations across all business units.
- Process denied party screenings, obtain clearances, and execute necessary follow-up actions.
- Support products assessment in accordance with dual-use regulations and maintain the associated database. Manage the approved product list and assist export classification evaluations in collaboration with the relevant experts.
- Take active responsibility for executing export control authorization processes and procedures across all business units, ensuring secure documentation and maintaining comprehensive audit trails.
- Provide active support to regional export compliance operations and coordinate closely with global teams in Switzerland, America, and China to maintain expertise and ensure effective deputyship.
- Provide guidance to internal Sales and Service Departments and Production Organizations by conducting case assessments and overseeing the management of internal authorizations in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory standards.
- Establish and perform internal monitoring utilizing standardized reports to identify potential risks and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Assist in the development of training materials and conduct training sessions through Learning Management Systems (LMS) or in-person classroom settings
- Collaborate with colleagues, supervisor and stakeholders across business units to review, update, and improve processes and government program elements in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in International Trade, Supply Chain, Logistics, Process/Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Proven export compliance background with at least 50% of prior role responsibilities in Export Compliance (not solely Customs).
- 3–7+ years of experience in trade compliance, ideally in multinational industrial, pharmaceutical, or complex regulatory environments.
- Solid knowledge of import/export regulations, Export Controls, HS/ECCN classification, product origin, and sanction regimes (SECO, BIS, US EAR/EU Dual-Use).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with fluency in English.
- Structured and precise work style with the ability to stay calm in high-pressure situations.
- Strong intercultural competence and capable of respectful cross-cultural communication.
- Team player with stakeholder management skills across multiple levels, flexible and willing to travel internationally when required.
