National Marketing Manager

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Mettler Toledo Rainin is looking for a US Marketing Manager.  In this role you will be responsible for defining and leading marketing strategies and initiatives to support growth targets for Rainin products and services in the USA.  You will be tasked with developing and executing both short and long-term marketing strategies with prioritized tactics that drive demand. The role will include working collaboratively with different internal stakeholders, ensuring that strategies are aligned with senior leadership and business objectives and execution remains in-step with other key programs. The role manages a marketing team whose primary focus is supporting the execution of tactical marketing initiatives. Travel as required, up to 40%.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Creating and implementing a comprehensive marketing plan for the US market aligned with business objectives: create campaigns across various channels to drive growth, create sales support tools, execute promotional planning and communication tools.
  • Collaborating with global marketing to:
    • Create USP's and messaging for divisional marketing material.  Provide VOC feedback to global marketing and product management. 
    • Localize and execute new product and program launch strategies and implement launch plans.  Share best practices and localized materials for possible adoption in other markets.  Provide concepts and content for brochures, web, email and various advertising channels.
    • Track and report campaign performance against KPI's and ROI benchmarks. Continually adjust/improve campaigns as needed to improve results.  Maintain dashboards of key performance indicators.
    • Develop and manage Rainin's digital marketing and ecommerce strategy and execution including ShopRainin strategy, content, and social media 
  • Developing expertise on key market segments and liquid handling applications.  Cultivate and maintain knowledgebase of key competitors and Rainin USP's.  
  • Managing marketing budget.  Maintain spending limits while maximizing ROI.  
  • Developing strong communication channels with all levels of the sales organization to understand their challenges, needs and growth drivers.  Support sales organization to achieve sales targets
  • Fostering customer relationships through such venues as customer events, user groups, newsletters etc.  Understanding and monitoring installed product base.
  • Managing Rainin telemarketing efforts with strategy development and execution of telemarketing campaigns: produce scripts, train telemarketing team, lead generation management and performance analysis.
  • Assuming responsibility of a product champion to the sales team: acquire expertise in the products to become the resource to sales on product features
  • Executing national and regional trade shows, site selection, vendor shows, seminars, user group meetings, training and promotions
  • Leading a team of marketing professionals responsible for both upstream and downstream local marketing.  Actively manage, develop and mentor to ensure their professional development.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in a life science related discipline. 
  • Must have at least five years of life science marketing experience with people management experience
  • Must have experience marketing and selling product into the life science marketplace: targeting the research and development groups of the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and academic sectors. 
  • Must demonstrate effective collaboration skills within highly cross-functional business settings
  • Must have strong analytical skills, campaign performance analysis and correlating that detailed data to larger, high level sales strategies
  • Must demonstrate a successful track record of creating and executing effective marketing strategies that range from inexpensive/high volume consumable products to highly complex instrumentation and software.
