Data Engineer

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Data Engineer is responsible for defining the approach, strategy, and overall shape of data used for business scenario execution, needed for all phases of testing. This activity includes but is not limited to analysis of existing data, coordinating with teams on data needs, determining methods for data creation, and overall data maintenance and storage approach. 

Your role:
  • Establish and document a plan for data collection from multiple teams, with the focus being on SAP.
  • Determine and implement data creation, selection, and maintenance, as well as root cause analysis of data-related issues.
  • Establish and document maintenance approach to ensure data quality and stability. 
  • Identify and implement a data storage approach, considering needs for data use across multiple testing environments. 
  • Providing detailed documentation on system defects.
  • Testing fixes and multiple builds within scheduled timeframes.
  • Verification and analysis of results, solving potential problems, bottlenecks.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Good knowledge and experience with SAP ERP and CRM in the area of Master Data and cross-object dependencies.
  • Experience in the area of customer and vendor data, or experience as an MDM key user with knowledge of business processes.
  • SAP Technical experience: LSMW and additional load programs (BAPI, SAP Scripts)
  • Strong analytical thinking skills to be able to recommend the best solutions for data management & storage.
  • Experience in IT projects dealing with complex data structures.
  • Experience in using Excel (including VBA Macros) and Access
  • Experience in the following is ideal, but not required: Middleware, PI, SAP MDM, SAP MM, and SD functional knowledge.
  • A detailed understanding of SAP data structures would be an asset.
