University Relations Program Manager

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of the program and managing full life-cycle recruiting for campus hires from select colleges and universities - first focusing on Ohio and then expanding to other key geographic locations. Our aim devoting a skilled practitioner to this role is to build our brand presence on key campuses and raise the quality of our long-term hiring pipeline into both internship and early career programs (ECP), with a keen eye toward diversity, equity and inclusion. 

You can expect these core responsibilities:
  • Serving as an ambassador for emerging talent, supervising the early career program participants and managing their rotations, and ensuring our interns have successful summer experiences. All participants should walk away from their experiences as loyal fans of the company.
  • Helping define and drive the campus recruitment strategy. Creating a comprehensive timeline and execution plan.
  • Developing creative ways to increase METTLER TOLEDO's brand and profile on key, strategic campuses through partnership/collaboration with various professional, community and student organizations.
  • Facilitating the details for university activities and hosting virtual events. Scheduling, arranging materials, booth presence, and enlisting company representatives from around the business.  
  • Sourcing, pipelining and recruiting talent to fill intern & early career rotational program requisitions with a special focus on diversity, equity and inclusion. Uses our applicant tracking system (Avature) and all related recruiting tools in our arsenal. 
  • Promoting these programs through internal and external communications including social media posts region wide.
  • Working with our hiring leaders who host summer interns and rotational program participants. Ensuring our businesses provide extensive coaching, mentoring, and feedback along with quality and quantity of valuable work projects.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Experience building and launching programs, specifically to attract emerging high-potential talent 
  • Experience working as a hands-on recruiter, adept at up-to-date recruiting techniques, managing pipelines, metrics and activity report.
  • Bachelor's degree in a major such as business, economics, communications, marketing, HR or similar and 3-5 years equivalent professional work experience.  Recruiting-related work experience in a corporate environment preferred. An understanding of Human Resources principles and practices as it relates to talent attraction, nurturing, hiring, and onboarding is preferred. 
  • Exposure/experience with diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Experience supervising multiple people and programs is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks during the busy events season or onboarding time span.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and social media tools including LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram. Experience with Handshake a plus.
  • Strong communication and planning skills, relationship development and attention to detail. Creative problem-solving and organizational skills is a must.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, career services, specialty groups and clubs, unit personnel and hiring managers.
  • Must be a team player with a high sense of urgency and have the ability to interact at all levels of the organization as well as connect with students.
  • Ability to travel to campuses nationwide during the recruiting event season (up to 25% travel during peak season)
