Senior Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineer

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will use his/her extensive Mechanical engineering experience to:

  • Be the lead technical engineer on a project.
  • Design, develop and test mechanical or electromechanical systems.  
  • Identify and perform/direct meaningful tests, analyze data, and communicate findings in a useful way to teams.
  • Have demonstrated experience with developing products that employ stepper motor and servo motor driven linear actuators for precision positioning.  
  • Create detailed, accurate technical data packages; work with support personnel to create block diagrams, part/assembly drawings, component specifications, bills of material, etc.
  • Use computer aided design and analysis techniques as inherent activities of development.
  • Conduct and participate in internal peer and design reviews for performance, manufacturability, and serviceability with cross-functional project teams, and coordinate with outside vendors.
  • Provide support for all stages of the product development lifecycle: Conceptualization, R&D, Manufacturing, and post launch support.
  • Assures product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities.
  • Investigate new technologies and concepts for future product development, or product improvements.
  • Be a team player – drive toward success – lead others by example.

What You Need to Succeed

Applicants should be able to demonstrate proficiency in the following key areas:

  • Fluency in common 3D solid modeling design tools (Pro/E, SolidWorks, Autodesk, Solid Edge).
  • Design of Experiments thinking – familiarity with simulation/data analysis tools such as MathCad, MiniTab, and perhaps Python a plus for modeling and assessing designs.
  • Demonstrated design of small, precision mechanisms, motor driven mechanisms, and injection molded plastic parts.
  • Demonstrated understanding of applicable mechatronic systems – ability to analyze structural and control capabilities.
  • Ability to communicate sophisticated mechanical design concepts and execution plans to peers and subordinates, enabling execution of dependent assignments.
  • Ability to work well in a supportive team environment.
  • Ability to lead junior engineers and technicians on project assignments.
