Contract Administrator

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Our Service Department is looking to add an entry Contract Administrator to the team.  This role will manage customer service contracts and pricing agreements as well as coordinating contract changes and renewal efforts with the Service TeleSales group. Responsibilities will include 
proactively contacting service contract customers to qualify all contract data, including account and end user information, applicable services, and active equipment and software license lists to ensure contract and contact database integrity.  

Responsibilities:

  • Interfacing with internal and external customers to provide information about contracts and customer assets, as well as maintaining database reports
  • Establishing new instrument and software service contracts in the SAP business system in accordance with new or revised commercial relationships
  • Entering customer contract related information into the SAP business system accurately
  • Working closely with field and Service Telesales personnel to help with the establishment or revision of contracts
  • Executing contract renewal activities, employing professional communication skills in their pursuit, and accurately managing and recording data generated from these efforts
  • Identifying contract problems and breakdowns in the system and make corrections
  • Developing a high level of technical expertise in regards to our service offerings.  Understanding and being able to effectively communicate the service solutions that are present on current contracts to ensure that they still meet the customer's business needs.
  • Researching and analyzing special projects as assigned
  • Maintaining and projecting a professional appearance and demeanor 
  • Managing all travel and support expense at or below budget

What You Need to Succeed

  • Associate's degree in Chemistry, Business, or Communications preferred, with possible experience in customer service, sales, or marketing or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to interact with customers to discuss price increases, contract changes, and contract renewals
  • Work effectively within the Service Support department and Field Service Operations and interface with other departments and teams in a professional and cooperative manner
  • Strong customer service ethic and ability to articulate to customers the value of Mettler Toledo’s service products.
  • Must be a self-starter who will identify problems and initiate corrective actions without specific direction from the Leader.
  • Ability to make independent, reasoned decisions.  Decision making authority includes when to involve field personnel or other managers in the renewal of pricing agreements and contracts, and when to act independently regarding contract pricing and renewal issues.
  • Work diligently and professionally in the pursuit of department and company goals. Be able to display a disciplined professional attitude at all times
  • Ability to effectively plan and organize work responsibilities
  • Must be proficient in MS Office including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Experience with ERP and/or CRM systems, particularly in the areas of contract management, is a plus
  • SAP knowledge a plus
