Facilities Associate

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

  • Executes preventative maintenance on all facilities equipment, including assisting vendors which are hired to perform preventive maintenance or repairs on facilities equipment. Keeps records and ensures timely execution.
  • Maintain appropriate and required paperwork/documentation for required inspections and maintenance on fire system, elevator, and other local and state regulated systems
  • Responsible for ensuring all internal areas of the building are maintained for cleanliness and safety.
  • Perform required inspections for safety and compliance including fire extinguishers, fire sprinkler systems, and eyewash stations.
  • Assist in the coordination of issuing and returning of facilities department tools and fixtures.
  • Assist and coordinate with office relocations and office furniture system reconfigurations.
  • Coordinate contractor support and work with various departments to ensure all contractor requirements are met. Conducts daily business in accordance with Contractor management procedures
  • Take direction from, and carry out tasks as assigned by the facilities manager on any HVAC, electrical, pneumatic and plumbing systems.
  • Maintain the Facilities database to document and track all support as well as executes on all requests in a timely manner. Snow ticket system
  • Maintain compliance for all government and external agencies including OSHA, EBMUD, OFD, etc.
  • Responsible for following procedures outlined in the Safety Plan and the quality manual.
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned by the facilities manager
  • Responsible for all department inventory and replenishment for janitorial supplies, coffees and accessories, vending machines, spare parts, operating expense items
  • Collects and submits required documentation and obtains permits from City of Oakland in accordance with local and state requirements when applicable.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Experience performing basic repairs for plumbing and related fixtures
  • Experience working with schematics for electrical, plumbing and mechanical.
  • Experience using a multimeter to check voltages, fuses and ohms.
  • Basic machine troubleshooting knowledge required.
  • Proficiency in mechanical skills required.
