Software Business Analyst

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

This position is mainly responsible for the interpretation, documentation, and delivery of customer's needs into an efficient and high functioning software application. The primary role of the Business Analyst is to work with our business representatives to create the requirements necessary to develop software that fulfills the needs of Mettler Toledo's internal customers. The software requirements should be created in accordance to business drivers and Mettler Toledo’s Software Development Process and management to strict deadlines. This includes ownership of the requirements, working with other business analysts, developers, the Team Lead, and Quality team. Responsibilities also include communication and coordination with the international project team. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Support the Team with the development and documentation of software requirements for Field Solutions projects. 
  • Provide insight and support to the QA team members with the review of QA test strategies and test cases 
  • Grow and develop current and future stakeholder relationships vital to the success of requirements definition and project success 
  • Manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans in alignment with Business Stakeholders, Product Owner(s), and Team Lead. 
  • Develop strategy for post-project audits and help to create a recommendation report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements. 
  • Drive initiatives along with the Team Lead, Product Owner(s), and Release Engineer to better plan, coordinate and implement global field testing, pilots and launches with international users. 
  • Contribute to best practices, introspection, continuous improvement, and tools for requirements management, requirements elicitation methods, and how to best utilize the Business Analyst role through out the SDLC. 
  • Actively monitor and report on operational KPIs as projects are delivered. 
  • Provide timely status updates to the Product Owner(s) and Team Lead on current projects. 
  • Other duties may be assigned.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Relevant Bachelor or Master degree (technology, business, etc) 
  • 3-5 years experience in business analyst or similar roles within software development processes and Quality systems including change management and Agile Project Methodology 
  • Self-driven and communicative team player with a result-oriented and positive attitude 
  • Experience with requirement management applications and software test management applications. Experience with MS Team Foundation Server (TFS)/Azure DevOps, HP Quality Center is a plus. 
  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities. 
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of internal sources and articulate logic of solutions to a diverse group of individuals. 
  • Has the ability to apply business principles in order to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists. 
  • Ability to apply complex mathematical concepts, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to solve business challenges. 
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
