Lab Sales Specialist

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Meet quarterly sales targets by managing key accounts and utilizing a variety of key account strategies.

Seeks partnerships with pharmaceutical, biotech, academic, government and clinical accounts to maintain and grow the Rainin liquid handling business.

Sells liquid handling instruments, consumables, calibration services and asset management products into key pharmaceutical, biotech, academic, government and clinical accounts.

Initiates and participates in onsite and online value-added events such as vendor shows, Good Pipetting Practice Seminars, Business Reviews, Service Reviews, Asset Assessments and Product demonstrations.

Thoroughly understands the topics of pipetting techniques, applications, ergonomics, and care and maintenance.

Promotes product to key accounts through direct sales.

Drafts account for specific marketing pieces to support sales.

Actively seeks E-commerce and paperless procurement solutions for key accounts

Provides cross-leads to other Mettler-Toledo business units.

Identifies new opportunities through cold-calling and penetrating new segments/accounts.

•Looks for Rainin 360+ opportunities at accounts.

Maintains Territory

Utilizes SAP CRM to manage leads, accounts, contacts, activities, opportunities and orders.

Utilizes internal marketing data and compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads based on information from business directories, industry ads, trade shows, web sites, company determined value added activities and other sources.

Travels through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders.

Ensures timely lead follow-up through SAP CRM.

Planning, Organizing and Reporting

Manages territory and accounts daily through SAP CRM.

Reports to District Manager on daily activity and field notes at least once per week.

Submits and reviews monthly reports with District Manager.

Other Duties

Provides staffing for national and regional trade shows as requested.

Maintains technical expertise.

Utilizes Rainin LMS training, MT Knowledge Hub, and seeks appropriate training to improve skills.

Complies with Company guidelines regarding expense reports, quarterly training courses and product sign-out procedures.

What You Need to Succeed

Candidates must have experience working in the "Life Sciences Field".

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in a life sciences discipline or equivalent work experience.

• 2+ years of laboratory experience or customer-facing experience, preferably within life sciences.

• Technical competency in product knowledge, product application and product positioning. Strong understanding of the consultative sales approach.

• Attention to detail including excellent organizational, communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills.

• Decision-making: Ability to analyze data, evaluate options, and make decisions.

• Sound judgment and problem-solving competency in handling product issues, sales issues, and customer issues.

• Good time management skills in implementing and executing successful plans of action that balance sales activities with customer needs and account development.

• Demonstrated ability to foster excellent relationships, trust, and credibility at all levels of the organization, with the ability to create a partnership atmosphere with internal and external resources.

• Demonstrated knowledge and skills with personal computer software in a business environment. Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required. Experience with CRM systems and other sales-related software preferred.

• Excellent presentation skills, including the ability to communicate information clearly and concisely in person and over the phone.
