- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and calibration on industrial and lab weighing equipment (primarily floor scales, bench scales, balances, and pH meters) at customer sites, following established procedures and safety standards.
- Troubleshoot basic issues and support installations, projects, and repairs as needed, partnering with more experienced technicians when required.
- Provide end-user training so operators understand how to use and care for their equipment correctly.
- Use a company laptop and service software to document work performed, update service records, and maintain data integrity in the service database each day.
- Communicate closely with the Scheduling Analyst, Service Support Team, sales, and fellow technicians to meet customer uptime and response-time expectations.
- Maintain your company vehicle and assigned parts inventory in a clean, organized, and compliant manner.
- Support service revenue by identifying service or product needs and submitting sales leads in line with your experience level.
- Follow all company, customer, safety, and quality policies to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and others.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED, or 5 years relevant experience in engineering, electronics, instrumentation, technology, computer science, or related technical roles.
- Customer-facing or field service experience preferred; commercial experience desired.
- Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical repair, PC networking, and software configuration.
- 1-3 years electro/mechanical repair or weighing industry experience.
- Ability to obtain a Weights and Measures licenses; failure to do so may result in termination.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to learn proprietary software and update information using METTLER TOLEDO programs.
- Willingness to travel overnight up to 10-25%, primarily by company vehicle but possibly by plane.
- Residence within the service territory required.
- Willingness to work overtime averaging 10-15%, up to 25% as needed.
- Exposure to worksite hazards including chemicals, traffic, machinery, dust, cold, and fumes.
- Willingness to wear protective equipment and clothing when required.
- Position is safety sensitive; subject to drug and alcohol testing.
- Physical ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds, carry, push, pull heavy loads, and perform movements like crouching, stooping, kneeling, and bending.
