Customer Data Steward (US night shift)

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to established data governance policies and business rules, advocating for their importance among team members and business users
  • Request, approve and/or oversee data maintenance requests, ensuring they align with data policies and business rules
  • Monitor and assess data quality metrics, taking proactive steps to address any quality issues that arise within the data lifecycle
  • Regularly review and cleanse data to maintain accuracy, integrity, and compliance with data quality standards, in conjunction with business users where applicable
  • Guide and support business users through changes in data management processes, data policies, and/or business rules to ensure smooth transitions and minimal disruption
  • Proactively address and resolve data issues from business users through diligent troubleshooting and comprehensive analysis
  • Serve as the go-to person for data-related queries from all potential stakeholders, providing guidance and insights as needed
  • Collaborate with cross-departmental business users, training and educating them about data policies, business rules, and process standards
  • Coordinate and facilitate collaboration among multiple departments and business units to ensure seamless execution of end-to-end data maintenance tasks as necessary
  • Foster and maintain collaboration with Data Governance and other departments to resolve data-related issues and facilitate improvements in data management processes
  • Foster strong relationships and communication between local units and shared business centers to ensure consistent data practices, share insights, and coordinate data management effectively

What You Need to Succeed

  • Working hours aligned to Eastern US Time business hours (8.00pm-5.00am MY time)
  • Proficiency in data management and data governance tools (e.g., data cataloging, data quality, and metadata management tools)
  • Hands-on experience in monitoring data quality and resolving data issues
  • A good team player with ability to work cross culture and function
  • Understanding of data security and privacy standards
  • Understanding of business data processes and how data supports business operation
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder relationships

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in data management, working with SAP/ERP systems like SAP CRM/ECC
  • Advanced degrees (e.g., Master's) or certifications in data management, data governance, or related areas are advantageous but not mandatory
