Project Manager

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

As our Project Manager, you will establish and manage assigned projects across the Thornton organization. Working with other key stakeholders, you will help allocate and prioritize resources for development and execution of projects consistent with the overall business objectives and product development roadmap. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with key project stakeholders to create strong initial requirements specifications and managing these requirements throughout the development cycle using effective verbal and written communication. 
  • Working with the subject matter experts to translate requirements specifications into requirements engineering documentation. 
  • Managing traceability matrix to ensure strong tie between market requirements and engineering activities. 
  • Actively integrating with project teams to deliver high-quality products and projects according to defined processes and best practices. 
  • Ensuring products are designed to meet market requirements, and are fully documented, tested, and released. 
  • Developing, maintaining, and communicating project plans including overall phase schedules and milestones, critical path project work breakdown structures, work scope definitions, and resource requirements. 
  • Prioritizing, assigning, and communicating tasks to project team members, monitoring project activities and driving projects to completion with agreed performance, delivery timeline, and cost targets. 
  • Collecting, analyzing, and maintaining project metrics data to track progress and performance against established goals. 
  • Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data collected from various project stakeholders. 
  • Preparing regular reports and dashboards to summarize project metrics for management review. 
  • Facilitating collaboration between team members and internal departments and clearly defining project deliverables, to ensure proper execution of project tasks. 
  • Effectively identifying, communicating, and mitigating project risks. 
  • Escalating as necessary to obtain additional support to overcome risks. 
  • Pursuing smooth product transfers into manufacturing and early success of products in the market. 
  • Understanding design for manufacturability/supply chain/service and incorporating this into project plans and requirements.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, computer science, engineering, or related technical field. 
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a project manager using formal NPDI Stage-Gate PLM Framework. 
  • Open and effective communication style, and the ability to interact with, and influence, key stakeholders. 
  • Experience working in a matrixed project environment. 
  • CAPM certification required. 
  • PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.
