Assembly Manager (M - F 6:30 AM - 3 PM)

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Role/Purpose:
This position is responsible for managing 1 of the 4 product technologies. (Ie Metal Detection, X-Ray, Checkweighing, or Vision) 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Communicate Job Expectations and Schedule Daily Priorities
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by participating in Safety Program and acting upon opportunities for improvement 
  • Planning, Monitoring, and Appraising Job Results using Lean Management Tools
  • Confirm individual assignments are completed per production schedule
  • Maintains daily workflow by monitoring steps in the process and personnel, observing control points and equipment, using reporting procedures and systems
  • Works closely with all departments to eliminate disturbances to the process and communicate as needs arise to the appropriate department.
  • Utilize Time Keeping system monitoring time worked and vacation scheduling
  • Maintain Lean Management and 5S systems and monitor closely for adherence and continuous improvement
  • Maintains staffing by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees
  • Monitor FPY results and implement corrective action as needed
  • Create nonconformances for internal and external production or material discrepancies 
  • Improve and Implement SOP's as needed
  • Coordinate shipments with the crating department
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned

What You Need to Succeed

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Managerial experience in a fast paced environment preferred
  • Ability to motivate employees and create an environment that promotes teamwork
  • Ability to communicate with personnel in a tactful manner 
  • Ability to solve problems, make good decisions, and manage conflict
  • Electrical and Mechanical knowledge
  • Process Documentation 
  • Excellent Problem solving skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • High Energy Level
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiar with Payroll Processing Software
  • Lean Mindset/Continuous Improvement
  • Knowledge of Lean Methodologies using SQDC, Lean Management, FPY, 5S
  • Safety Conscious
  • Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. and work in multiple positions (ie Stand, sit, lay, squat, bend, kneel) for prolonged periods of time
This position is considered safety sensitive and is subject to drug testing as permitted by law.

Minimum Education / Experience Required:
  • Minimum of five years supervisory experience or demonstrated progression as a subject matter expert in your field
  • BS in Industrial Education, Engineering or other Technical Degree strongly preferred
