- Program Leadership:
- Drive end-to-end delivery of complex programs involving Java Microservices,
- cloud-native platforms, and retail-specific systems.
- Program Governance Definition & Management:
- Establish and evolve governance models that ensure transparency, accountability, and alignment across stakeholders. Use governance as a strategic tool to scale delivery maturity and position for future Program Leader responsibilities
- Sustain strong cadence for Product Review Boards, Change Control Boards (CCB), and
- Engineering Change Management (ECM) processes. Ensure traceability, impact analysis, andstakeholder alignment for all changes.
- Product Management Collaboration:
- Partner with Product Managers to align delivery with roadmap priorities, customer needs, and business outcomes.
- Support Go-To-Market (GTM) and Time-To-Market (TTM) strategies by coordinating release readiness, feature packaging, and stakeholder communication.
- Program Planning & Budgeting:
- Develop and maintain detailed program plans, resource forecasts,and financial tracking. Collaborate with accounting teams to manage budgets, cost allocations, and ROI analysis of the Program.
- Resource Allocation Support:
- Work closely with Engineering Managers to assess team capacity, align skillsets with project needs, and optimize resource distribution across concurrent initiatives.
- Backlog Prioritization:
- Partner with Product Owners and Engineering leads to groom and prioritize backlogs, balancing feature delivery, technical debt, and cross-system dependencies.
- Retail Domain Expertise:
- Align technical delivery with retail workflows and customer engagement.
- Technical Evolution:
- Apply deep understanding of software engineering, gained through prior roles in development or architecture, to guide delivery decisions, challenge assumptions, and bridge business technical gaps.
- Cross-Technology Oversight:
- Coordinate across diverse stacks including Java, Spring Boot Microservices, Angular, React, middleware, and data platforms. Provide insight into frameworks like Spring Boot, Kafka, Kubernetes, and RESTful APIs.
- Architecture & Framework Alignment:
- Collaborate with Architects and Engineering Managers to ensure scalable, secure, and performant systems. Influence architecture and Agile transformation in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Tool Deployment & Integration:
- Leverage Azure DevOps for pipeline orchestration, release tracking, and environment management.
- Utilize Polarion ALM for requirements traceability, test coverage, and change impact analysis.
- Program Health:
- Design and maintain real-time dashboards, burn-down charts, velocity trackers, and milestone views to communicate program status, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders. Integrate dashboards across tools to provide unified visibility into Program Health.
- PLM Framework Familiarity:
- Align program execution with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) principles, ensuring traceability from concept to retirement.
- Milestone & Stage Gate Management:
- Define and track delivery milestones, facilitate stage gate reviews, and ensure readiness for go/no-go decisions across program phases.
- Security Awareness:
- Demonstrate working knowledge of Product Security and Application Security principles
- including secure coding practices, threat modeling, vulnerability management, and compliance alignment.
- Collaborate with DevSecOps and Engineering teams to ensure security requirements are embedded throughout the SDLC.
- Servant & Inclusive Leadership:
- Foster a culture of trust, empowerment, and psychological safety across teams.
- Champion inclusive decision-making, ensuring all voices are heard and respected.
- Act as a facilitator and enabler, removing roadblocks and supporting team autonomy.

- SAFe Execution:
- Facilitate PI Planning, ART syncs, and Scrum of Scrums. Champion Lean-Agile principles and ensure alignment across Agile Release Trains.
- Stakeholder Management: Engage with senior leadership, product teams, vendors, and external partners to manage expectations, communicate progress, and resolve conflicts.
- Risk & Dependency Management: Identify delivery risks across systems and teams, manage interdependencies, and drive mitigation strategies.
- Qualification: B.E / B.Tech / M.E / M.Tech
- Experience of at least 12 years in leading software design and development projects / programs
- Technical Expertise:
- 8+ years in software development and program management.
- Strong understanding of Advanced Java, Spring Boot, Microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP).
- Familiarity with CI/CD, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and observability tools.
- Exposure to DevSecOps, OWASP principles, and data-driven decision-making.
- Program Management:
- 5+ years of experience managing large-scale Agile programs across multiple technologies.
- Fair knowledge of SAFe methodology, including PI Planning, ARTs, and Lean Portfolio Management.
- Experience with program planning, budgeting, and financial tracking.
- Hands-on experience with tools like Azure DevOps, Polarion ALM, and other dashboard/reporting tools.
- Familiarity with PLM frameworks, structured change control, and RACI modeling.
- Proven ability to define and manage governance models across complex delivery landscapes.
- Proficiency with tools like Jira, Confluence, and Agile dashboards.
- Leadership & Communication:
- Demonstrated Servant Leadership and inclusive team facilitation.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through influence rather than direct authority.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making capabilities.
- Data Analytics Platforms:
- Experience using analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Grafana, etc) to inform prioritization, risk management, and stakeholder reporting.
- Legal & Compliance Awareness:
- Understanding of GDPR, PCI-DSS, or other regulatory frameworks relevant to retail and customer data handling.
- Design Thinking & UX Collaboration: Ability to facilitate customer-centric discussions with UX teams
- and incorporate usability feedback into backlog refinement
- Retail Innovation Trends:
- Awareness of emerging retail tech such as RFID, edge computing, AIdriven personalization, or autonomous checkout systems.
- Multi-Program Orchestration:
- Experience managing interdependent programs in matrix organizations with shared resources.
- Vendor & Partner Coordination:
- Experience managing third-party vendors with external partners.
- PMP / Agile certifications as appropriate.
- Six Sigma / Lean certification will be a plus.
