Territory Sales Representative - Industrial

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

This position is primarily responsible for selling products and services per the assigned account classification and product portfolios utilizing the telephone, e-mail, Internet, and other technologies. The role is also responsible for offering straightforward technical advice, support and solutions to prospective customers; qualifying prospect accounts and end-user information, and managing leads and opportunities in the CRM. 

Knowledge and Business Management Functions 
  • Develop technical and application expertise in the assigned Industrial BA’s product lines and service offerings. 
  • Understand and be able to communicate the product solutions and services we offer to solve customer problems. 
  • Develop and implement plan to achieve revenue quotas and other assigned targets. 
  • Utilize SAP CRM for all lead, opportunity, quote, contact and activity management per defined processes. 
  • Manage incoming calls from customers and follow up on all sales leads per assigned account classification and product lines. 
  • Qualify sales leads by assessing need, budget, and buying authority. Obtain basic qualifying information including (not limited to) time frame for purchase, decision maker(s), budget, influencing factors, next step in the sales process. 
  • Effective nurturing of leads; building relationships by conducting ongoing, informative dialog that helps qualified prospects who are not yet sales-ready. Move each lead to the next step in the sales cycle at the appropriate time and ultimately close the sale for product and/or service. 
Analytical and Support Functions
  • Assist manager and senior management by providing bi-weekly updates about recurring business issues that require a proactive approach, or trends that suggest alternate sales offers or approaches, through participation in a bi-weekly meeting (or as needed, determined by management). 
  • Assure database integrity by validating and correcting the data housed within our CRM for sales and service at every practical opportunity. 
  • Accurately and quickly promote/quote products, services, and solutions to those applicable per the assigned account classification and product portfolios.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered; strong mathematical/analytical skills preferred
  • 2-3 years of any combination of Sales, Customer Service, or Marketing related experience, preferably in a B2B environment; teleselling skills training also desirable 
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets & KPIs and building strong customer relationships 
  • Proficient with CRM systems and Microsoft Office 365 Suite 
  • Qualified candidate should possess aptitude for decision making, customer focus, teamwork/cross-functional effectiveness, business intelligence, strong verbal & written communication, quality work, dependability, initiative & enthusiasm, sound judgement, and coordination of work 
  • Qualified candidate should be competitive and have the desire to excel in a sales environment, as well as the ability to connect with various personality types 
  • Qualified candidate should have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
