Manufacturing Engineer

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

• Support the production floor as the technical expert for assembly issues.
• Contribute to NPDI projects ensuring DFM and DFA inputs are voiced.  Develop PFMEA for new products. 
• Write and maintain detailed assembly procedures for the department in support of the ISO 9001 quality system
• Create, review, and approve ECR/ECO. Determine and implement changes in the department 
• Identify the need for, design, develop, and maintenance of tools and fixtures used by the department to provide safe and efficient assembly 
• Identify the need for, select, and purchase the equipment for the department. Ensure that procedures for maintenance and service exist in the form of work      instructions and schedules.
• Assist with training of personnel during the introduction of new products. 
• Develop and maintain assembly routings. Ensure that costs are maintained in SAP correctly.
• Develop work flows and floor layouts for safe and efficient operations.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement program by means of cost saving projects
• Support cross functional departments including, but not limited to, Supply Chain, Quality, Tech Support, Product Management, R&D, and Service. 

What You Need to Succeed

• Education and/or Experience: Four year college or university program certificate; Mechanical or industrial engineering, four plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Mechanical aptitude: Have a fundamental knowledge of mechanical systems. Mechatronics a plus. Understanding of machining, injection molding, and mechanical assemblies. Basic understanding of GD&T. 

• Language: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical specifications and drawings.  Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions;

• Demonstrates group presentation skills; Participates in meetings. Writes clearly and informatively; Edits work for spelling and grammar; Varies writing style to meet needs; Presents numerical data effectively; Able to read and interpret written information. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 

• Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. 

• Analysis, Design, and Problem Solving: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Translates concepts and information into images; Uses feedback to modify designs; Applies design principles; Demonstrates attention to detail. Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations. 

• Project Management, Planning and Organization: Develops project plans; Coordinates projects; Communicates changes and progress; Completes projects on time; Manages project team activities. Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; Plans for additional resources; Sets goals and objectives; Develops realistic action plans.

• Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of SAP ERP, AutoCAD, MS Office Suite of software
