Product Owner - Training & Development

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

You will be part of the international and highly motivated Human Resources Solutions (HRS) team in our IT organization, Digital Business Services (DBS). As the Product Owner for our LMS and Performance & Talent Management systems, you will be responsible for leading the further development of our LMS (SumTotal) as well as our SuccessFactors solutions for Goals & Performance (GPM) and Talent Management (Talent Review). You will work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, define the vision, and ensure the successful delivery of high-impact solutions that drive our talent strategy forward.

Your main tasks will include but not be limited to:

  • Project Management: You will be fully responsible for the solutions within your scope, overseeing the end-to-end project lifecycle, from initial scoping and planning to delivery and post-implementation support.
  • Vendor Management: You will ensure a healthy relationship between the vendors and internal stakeholders and act as first point of contact for contractual and roadmap topics as well as issues and escalations. This includes regular calls, training sessions and other ad-hoc meetings.
  • Solution Design: You play a pivotal part in the design of our SAP SuccessFactors GPM and Talent Review modules and ensure the tools meet business requirements and enhance the user experience.
  • Governance: A key task is to ensure that globally defined processes are followed, acting as gatekeeper and guarantee that data is always maintained properly.
  • Backlog Management: Maintain and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring that development teams are focused on delivering the highest value features.
  • Consulting & Expertise: You proactively consult and recommend best practices to the business; this means to also being able to constructively reject demands that do not fit into the global picture where necessary.
  • Continuous Improvement: You monitor product performance and user feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Customer Experience: You will follow up on business requests in a timely and friendly manner and provide 2nd – 3rd level support if required.
  • Change Management: You drive user adoption and change management initiatives, including training, documentation, and ongoing support, together with your peers within DBS as well as the business.
  • Communication: You proactively communicate to business stakeholders as well as cross-functionally within DBS to anticipate questions, requests and changes.
  • Stakeholder Management: You collaborate with HR leaders, business partners, and end users to gather requirements, prioritize features, and ensure alignment with business objectives.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Experience: You bring a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Product Owner or similar senior role in Training & Development with a strong focus on SAP SuccessFactors and an LMS. You have worked in an agile set-up (ideally SAFe or Scrum), preferably in an international organization.
  • Background in consulting is a nice-to-have.
  • Technical Skills: You showcase an in-depth knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors modules (e.g., Performance & Goals and Learning), and have experience with system configuration and customization. Furthermore, you have a strong IT affinity and are a digital native.
  • Project Management: You have a proven track record of managing large, global projects, ideally in matrix organizations, with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Problem-Solving: You have a positive can-do attitude, can successfully prioritize, are a self-starter who works well without too much guidance. You are a problem solver who sees solutions over problems and proactively suggest ideas and optimization potentials.
  • Analytical Skills: You have the ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and solutions while always staying calm and professional, even in stressful situations.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels. You are fluent in English, any other language advantageous (like Chinese or German).
  • Certifications: SAP SuccessFactors certification(s) are a strong plus.
  • Experience with SAFe or other agile methodologies.
