Global Key Account Manager in Food and Beverages

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

The market organization serves the Swiss market with all METTLER TOLEDO products and services. The Key Account Manager's main role is to drive new cross-divisional business development at his selected key accounts. This is achieved through developing and maintaining a strong relationship with key decision makers, thorough understanding of Key Account needs and requirements, identification of key strategic activities, and continuously proposing our relevant solutions to meet their objectives. We are looking at our global operational headquarters in Greifensee, Switzerland for a Global Key Account Manager in Food and Beverages 100% (all genders).

In this role, your responsibilities would include:
  • Build and maintain strong, strategic, long-term business relationships with key decision makers at selected local (DACH) and Global target accounts in the Food and Beverages industries.
  • Create and execute business development plans for target accounts, provide support and guidance for local METTLER TOLEDO sales teams and maintain close liaison with relevant stakeholders (Business Area managers, sales teams, support functions...) to ensure effective implementation of account plans.
  • Take the lead in the development and negotiation of contractual agreements with target accounts and ensure corresponding execution.
  • Develop strong knowledge about Food & Beverages industry segment and our product / solution portfolio, and ensure the competitive and normative watch of the industrial environment.

What You Need to Succeed

Following requirements are necessary for this role: 
  • You have a degree in engineering (mechanical / electrical etc.), natural sciences (physics, chemistry, biochemistry etc.), or economics (BA, B.Sc., MA, M.Sc) or in a comparable field of study 
  • You bring at least five years of work experience in key account management and / or sales management  
  • You are proficient in IT tools (Microsoft Office) and internal tools (CRM, SAP etc.)  
  • You have capacity to work and interact within a global environment with a high understanding of cultural differences pertaining to personal and business skills  
  • You are an initiative, committed, and independent person with strong strategic and analytical capabilities 
  • You have strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to negotiate and to work in a team  
  • You have strong oral and written communication skills in English and German (business fluent), French is a plus
  • Furthermore, a high willingness to travel is required (approx. 20-30%)
