Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following listed below. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Reads work instructions to learn and do testing procedures. Follows verbal training instructions from Leads or other trainers assigned by Leads.

2. Moves trays of pipettes and other testing supplies to the testing station. Performs the leak test procedures, as outlined in work instructions, which includes tasks such as visually inspecting the pipette, operating the pipette, connecting the pipette to a vacuum-testing device and operating the device, and observing the liquid levels drawn by the pipette.

3. Compares the test results to the appropriate specification and writes the results on report forms.

4. Fails pipettes that do not meet specifications and labels them as defective pipettes.  Returns defective pipettes to the Assemblers for rework.

5. Communicates with Leads and Supervisor about test results both verbally and in writing.

6. Records the status of testing on the tray label and moves the trays away from the testing station.

7. Develops proficiency in performing the duties of the Final Packager to assist when needed.

What You Need to Succeed

1. Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. 3 to 6 months prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. 

2. Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information to other employees of the department.

3. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers. 

4. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

5. Computer Skills: Familiar with FileMaker Pro, Excel data entry preferred.
