Regional Product Specialist

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Key Purpose of the Role:
  • Coordinating, preparing and conducting product training and launches to our internal/external customers.
  • Develop training and product support material fit for global rollout.
  • Provide 2nd/3rd level product and application support of Standard Industrial Weighing related solutions for the Asia Pacific region.
  • Support in local sales/ service activities for customers, such as seminars, webinars, product demonstrations and customer consulting.
  • Corresponding with our global Strategic Product Groups to facilitate market intelligence, product development, quality improvements and testing.

Strategic Outcome:
  • Able to help our marketing organizations in the region to successfully achieve the sales and service of our products by enhancing their competencies and skills. Also resolve customer issues in a timely manner by learning and applying product functions, support tools, segment specified knowledge and regulatory compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Training
  • Analyse training gaps and requirements for our sales/service force in the region.
  • Proactively organize and provide onsite, remote and classroom training to our sales/service personnel and sometimes customers in line with global training curriculum.
  • Develop and update training material (eg. Presentations, video, white papers) and provide local customizations.
  • To promote and recommend the necessary training programs to help develop the skills of our personnel.
  • Maintaining our training and demo equipment.

Technical Advisory and Product Advocate
  • Providing prompt and expert application and product support mainly for Mettler Toledo’s standard industrial weighing solutions (hardware and software solutions) to Mettler-Toledo's sales and service organizations.
  • Becoming a competent key technical advisor and product advocate for MT products.
  • Communicate regulatory compliance requirement and applications effectively, demonstrating MT’s market leadership and expertise in the relevant fields.
  • Understand user requirements and recommending solutions.
  • Support in marketing activities, such as customer visits, seminars, exhibitions and in advanced product demonstrations.

Product Management
  • Supporting the Strategic Product Groups (SPGs) in successfully launching and training new products to the region.
  • Support the development of certain technical/marketing materials such as FAQ, white paper or application notes/case studies and presentation materials.
  • Able understand and note end customer’s current and future requirements and needs.
  • Able to analyze competitor’s offering in the key markets.

Mandatory:
  • Degree/Diploma in any discipline preferably in Electrical/ Electronics/Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Knowledge on Automation and Control Instrumentation System (sensors, transmitters, weighing)
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in a Technical Support, Trainer or Service Environment serving customers in the Manufacturing Industry including Food & Beverages, Chemical, Pharmaceutical
  • Project and time management Skills
  • Willing to travel (Asia and Internationally)
  • Strong presentation skills and trainer experience, with an influencing ability
  • Valid driving license

Preferred
  • First hand understanding and experience of technical equipment, process and automation control systems
  • Knowledge on PLC Data communication protocol (fieldbus, TCP/IP, Analog & Digital output signals) is an advantage
  • Knowledge on MS SQL, C#, C++ with basic PC software and networking troubleshooting skills
